Looks a really enjoyable game, with a great looking map and just a few counters, everything you could want in a solo game. Great review and looking forward to a play through.

Take Aim Designs is my own company, founded in 2012. It has co-published five two player titles with Revolution Games: Battleaxe, Ie Shima, Arracourt, Arras, Corregidor. The map and counter art for all these games has been by Charles Kibler (who worked for Avalon Hill and did the maps for their area-impulse games).

It is setup on my table and I’m still reading the rules.

"A small board so it's not big.." 😄 Looks great. Bet they do an Arnhem game at some point.

I guess if people really, really, want Arnhem it's possible. But it would always be compared to Storm Over Arnhem, i.e. "Why do I want this game when I already own Storm Over Arnhem?"

This looks very interesting!

Looks like an upgraded version of Avalon Hill's "Turning Point: Stalingrad", also an area movement game.

Very different from TP:S. But same counter and map artist (Charles Kibler).

Really curious about your thoughts on the game. Hopefully we'll see a review soon.

Grant's already played it a bit, so you'll see something on it at some point, but I can't promise it'll be soon, the video release schedule is already packed!

Big thanks for review. I’m intrigued by what other games are in development or horizon for this game mechanics. Looks like great value. Thanks.

Manila 1945 with the player commanding the American side is well into playtesting. Essentially done. I'm thinking of the opening phase of Cholm 1942 with the player as the Soviet side after that.

Thank you Michael for the update. Great to hear what’s in the pipeline for this series.

I know it says "area movement" system on there, Grant, but is this an area activation game? If so: cool. These are becoming increasingly rare these days.
@ThePlayersAid Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's an area activation game

@@ThePlayersAid Thanks for clarifying. This might be a buy then.

Do you guys ever play any print and play games, are you into large/ in depth campaign games?
@ThePlayersAid Жыл бұрын
PnP no, not really. Hard enough getting through our boxed games! We do like long, in depth campaign games, (we're currently playing Frosthaven, AND Undaunted: Stalingrad)

Come on Grant, clipping counters is a waste of perfectly good gaming time! ;) Edit - Also, I don't see any Soviet units at all. Would love to see a replay of how this game works.
@robertmoffitt1336 Жыл бұрын
The Soviet "units" are on the back of well, they're like terrain markers. There's clear, elevated, light urban and heavy urban counters. So I think you place them randomly face down in the appropriate terrain areas and unveil them when you move into the areas.
