The very very pretty man @4:00 of this reaction is Jimin. He is the main dancer and lead vocalist. Be very very careful of him because he is known to steal your girl, your mom and you all at the same time. He’s just really irresistible. I’m 46 year old ARMY (what their fandom is called) and Jimin is my bias. There are 4 vocalists and 3 rappers and all of them dance. Their English language songs tend to be fun, dumb pop, while their Korean and Japanese are much deeper and more meaningful. The voice up top that you noticed is the very pretty man, Park Jimin. 🙂 Thanks for reacting!

It's kind of depressing that the only way they can be truly recognized in the mainstream US market is by making dumb English pop songs instead of the usual poetic depth of their typical Korean music. Le sigh. I did like Butter better than Dynamite lyrically, though. It had some more substance.

You are correct that this is a very tame introduction to BTS. It's only their second all English song, Dynamite was their first, and in their own words, was made/released as a feel-good Summer song without any kind of heavy or serious meaning. All seven actually VERY distinctive voices, but they are able to blend them very well when the style of the song needs it. There are three rappers and four vocalists. They have well over 200 songs, they've been a group since 2013, and in almost every genre. A few of their most popular songs that really show the diversity of the group would be Black Swan, Mic Drop, Your Eyes Tell (Japanese), Not Today, and Spring Day.

2 suggestions for future BTS song reactions: 1- Always turn on subtitles (cc) because most are mix of Korean and English. 2 - Always listen to the actual end of the song as there is often a pause, then finish.

They are professional dancers, they've trained for years, one member Jhope did street dancing for years before the band started. Another member Jimin went to a performance school and studied contempary dance. In K-pop it's pretty much a MUST for you to be able to dance, and most of all their songs have choreography and they perform all of them live. And they also always sing live. Also all the members are Songwriters/producers/composers. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalist

They have so so so much variety in their discography as they don't stick to one genre (in fact they started as a hip hop group and still have heavy hiphop/r&b influences in their music). You are going to hear the terms "leader", "main", "sub", and "lead" dancer/rapper/vocalist. It should be noted that those terms don't mean the same in Korea as the Western world. They are almost like job descriptions based on skills. I recommend doing a little research if you are interested. BTS doesn't have what we think of as a 'front man' and is amazing at moving the members around so they all have time to shine. They also all have solo songs, so their entire artistic identity isn't wrapped up in the group - rather the group is their support system that allows them to grow.

A lot of Kpop idols have discovered organic/ vegan hair "dyes" that are more a semi perm stain. I use Arctic Fox and i colour my hair a lot. It's long, soft, thick and fluffy because it's NOT those cheapy boxed dye's you get at walmart.

As an ARMY I hope you continue to delve into BTS, I know you won't be disappointed. There is another singer I think you'd be interested in if you haven't checked him out as of yet. His name is Dimash. His vocal range will blow your mind. A great song to check out is him singing S.O.S. It's in French, but language doesn't matter if you're not fluent because it's still beautiful. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, he can sing in twelve languages. His octave range is like no other human. I could explain all day, but it wouldn't do it justice. BTS and Dimash are extraordinary gifts to this world.

Hey :) I enjoyed your video a lot! You guys are so cool. I don't know if anyone else answered this and I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think I have heard that idols usually get a lot of hair treatment sessions so that their hair doesn't break after bleaching/dyeing. They do have whole teams of stylists around them that take care of them constantly, but they also go to special hair salons to get it taken care of. (Also, your hair looks really nice too, Daniel. Your curls are pretty.)

YES YES YES...TAME... you're absolutely correct. Btw love the song you sang. Pretty sure I heard a little JImmy Sommerville in those high notes. LOVE! They've been known to practice anywhere between 12-16 hours per day with choreo, pre performances. Especially in the early years. This particular number isn't complicated for them to dance to. They are hard core performers that have to dance and sing live and they are well seasoned in their craft. Because you're both vocalists, I would like to suggest that you listen to the vocal line singing HOUSE OF CARDS live, there is a version with english lyrics. I think you'd really enjoy that.

I really like your reactions! The 2nd video you guys reacted to is just their dance practice video, not a performance, which they put out for their singles showing just the choreography. This one has the dance break that you see on their live performance of Butter on the recent Billboard Music Awards which you guys should react to to hear actual live vocals. They taped it singing live in Korea and it was broadcast during the awards. It’s a great performance with a full high quality production which is the standard for them. I hope you react to more BTS. They have amazing vocal performances in their catalog which consists of 200+ songs, always better live than even the studio recordings.

And to think only 2 members took dancing lessons before joining BTS, Jin was scouted getting off a bus for his looks having no experience at all in singing or dancing, V only attended an audition to support a friend. It truly was fate these 7 individuals came together to create BTS. Yes they are all talented, but trust me it took years and years of hard work and practice (they used to practice 12-16 hours a day) to be this good. And I really don't know how their hair seems to be so healthy when dyeing it so often. Suga said he was going to sue Bighit (their company) if his hair falls out. LOL.

If you want to see their performance from the vocal point of view, you need to see their live shows. Something like tiny desk concert. Or any live performance. My personal favorite: The Truth Untold, the live show. If you want to see them dancing more, go check On the Kinematic Come Prima. If you want to be jaw dropped, see their MMA 2019 show. Trust me, whatever image you have of BTS at the moment, they might be wrong. BTS is not like any group. Good luck!
