What college football coaches, players and stadiums could stand in Ohio State's way in 2024?
On this Kings of Columbus, Doug Lesmerises runs through the 28 OSU losses he has covered since 2005 (excluding the 2011 season) and finds the villains who ruined those games for Ohio State, from Trevor Lawrence to J.J. Watt, from Urban Meyer to Vince Young.
Then the search is on for those who have at least a chance to do the same to the Buckeyes this year, from Akron, Nebraska, Texas, Michigan, Penn State, Iowa, Alabama, Oregon and Georgia.
Or ... can the Buckeyes only really stop themselves?
The show wraps with Whatcha Watching, Eating and Thinking.
Thanks for joining Kings of Columbus on The Podcast.

‘Pride goeth before the fall” I enjoyed this show and loved Tressel’s custom of wearing a mousetrap around his neck to help guys not be too cocky (remember Iowa 2017)

If we stay relatively healthy, Quinn nor anybody else should scare this defense! I really expect our defense to be the most dominant defense we've ever seen so if theres a villain its got to be the injury bug....or justin frye 😅 O-H!!

I sure hope OSU has some competition and scares in our regular schedule to better prepare us for post-season victories!

In my opinion, you're constantly over estimating Jim Harbaugh and the legitimacy of the "rise" of their program. I'm not even referring to Connor Stallions stuff. How about super cream puff schedule, insane luck a few times, dodging the actual best team last year with Georgia and on top of that, having all those seniors and super seniors. Was that UM team the combined oldest college football team in modern times? They will be back to Penn State/Wisconsin status where they belong. Good, but not nearly as good as you think they were.

If you had watched the Kings of the North championship game preview, you would know how wrong that sentiment was. The team that actually benefited from this "Michigan was all super seniors" conspiracy theory was actually Washington. If you're actually interested in knowing the objective truth and not just the "truth" that fits your narrative, that episode Doug and Bill went over will be enlightening.

@@Jon.A.Scholt It was one part of many things, like I listed. Not watching the episode, but if they try to say Washington had many more.....then they were wrong, period. Nobody is counting the guys that never seen the field. Already seen this age breakdown during last season, the average of players actually playing was older, it's called math. From watching this video I can see how he was probably able to twist numbers (most likely by taking people that never dressed, let alone played) to fit his narrative. This was brought up all year last year by nearly everyone, including TCUN. So even if UW was technically older, they were probably not "practically" older and even if they were, like I said.....that was one part of their miraculous culmination of good fortune.

@@TheGolferguy71 It's hilarious you say that because their breakdown is literally about only players who see the field. They only counted the players who were top 35 in snap counts; the starters and the backups who were in the rotation. It completely dismantles the conspiracy theory you've been fed. The breakdown by class is as follows. Washington's top 35 players- 10 6th years, 11 5th years, 10 4th years, 2 3rd years, 2 2nd years, 0 1st years. So extremely senior laden. Michigan's top 35- 2 6th years, 9 5th years, 9 4th years, 7 3rd years, 8 2nd years, 0 1st years. So how is it Michigan is "the oldest team in college football history"; an absurd claim that is clearly wrong. If you said it about Washington, I'd say it's possible. But the data shows how Washington was much much older than Michigan. If you want to see the information for yourself It's the KOTN video from January 3. The timestamp is @21:36. I'm sure you'll make a replv with no actual data or will try to find some other excuse. When you speak of twisted numbers, it was the Buckeyes propagandists who did so, literally counting walk ons and scout team members. This is also extremely easy to show, as you can sort Michigan's roster (on their own website nonetheless) by class. All those claims of 47 seniors were made up primarily of walk ons and the like. Can lead a Buckeye to factual information, but you can't make him forget the Buckeye propaganda I suppose.
