Right? I remember taking Ballet Technique 1 and 2 in college (I was a biology major, but I needed more electives and dance classes don't have homework). I was one of 2 people who could run. Granted, I was a gymnast when I was a kid and had learned some ballroom dancing in high school for fun. So I had an edge.

i used to help people learn ballroom and it happens all the time there too, i'd say step fwd and they'd take the biggest step diagonal

I'm always having fun watching your videos because I realize how little I know and how much I know about ballet and it's a load of fun I'm a junior in high school who is in color guard so we use a lot of ballet terms but color guard is something most people and I started freshman year of high school so for me I feel so accomplished to come so far that I can understand ballet videos even without years and years of practice

It's interesting watching this as someone who has danced for years, but not seriously, if that makes sense? I don't do pointe or expect to make it into a career or anything, so it's interesting watching the professionals do moves that I know the basis of, but then make them better.

Me too. I remember my teacher correcting my port de bras. By the way you feel sooo lucky when a teacher came to you to correct something ! Anyway I was so focus on reaching my fingers to her hands that I forgot to breath. She had to remind to. To this day, I don't know what happens. How on Earth did I forgot a such simple thing ? And how did she noticed it ?

Right after, my teacher looked us dead in the eyes and said, “Did any of you take a breath that entire time?” Literally all of us had been holding our breath for the whole combo! She now reminds us to breath almost every day. 😂
