I am dancing in college and my body is 100% pear shaped. I love my body and all that it does when I dance but the comments from others……I am not sure other people will ever stop notifying me that my thighs are not as small as my arms. It is not easy to find good people, but they are out there!

It depends on the person doing it. If they're a dancer or otherwise have the muscle strength then they're usually okay. Someone who isn't trained on pointe really shouldn't even try it.

Yes, Julie, the owner is awesome! She is very detailed on explainations and is very passionate about Ballet. She is extremely responsive when you send her emails. I reccomend Broche Ballet for any adult wanting to take Ballet classes. It is affordable also! :)

I'm a gymnastics coach mainly teaching rec classes, that's relevant to the rest of the comment. I just need y'all to know that because of watching these videos and having strictly dancers as friends growing up (I didn't dance I cheered) that I came off as real weird when I had a new girl in one of my classes and during stretches she was in a straddle with pointed toes and I immediately noticed that she has a CRAZY high arch. I asked her if she used to dance she was confused said no and asked why I thought she danced. When I replied with the whole high arch thing she was even more confused and slightly weirded out when I said she has nice feet, I specified for dancing but still 😅😭

i'm a size 0-2 and i was told i was too fat my whole career. i think it's less about fat sometimes and more about things u can't change, like your height, proportions, and arch shape. you're always judged on those 3 things most heavily and those are the things u have no control over.
