Stansted is really nice considering how cheap it is to fly there. Luton, however, is basically a warehouse. Also, Stansted is easy to reach by national express buses so all those tube changes you did were unnecessary.

I mean tbh Stansted is the same to me, feels like a massive warehouse. Luton has been refurbished and I stayed there for a night with no issues, it felt modern, they opened security super early so I could go chill airside which I appreciated. Meanwhile Stansted apparently has banned sleeping if you stay the night lol

Luton when it’s busy is a fukn nightmare. Had to sit on the floor on multiple occasions because there’s about 4 restaurants and 10 seats

I live in central London and that is the route I take to Stansted, I think it depends on where you live in London and if you live in Central or west or SW or NW London and are using public transport that is pretty much the route you take.

My parents live in Aberdeen so I fly up there sometimes. Aberdeen airport is far worse than Stansted. It's awful even though it was recently refurbished.

I live in Inverurie and I do have to agree with you there Aberdeen air port is awful which is why when me my mum dad and brother we mostly use Glasgow airport it is far far better

@@sonja7404 I feel like the only reason why Stansted was worse was the commuting time which makes sense considering London is much bigger than Aberdeen. It really is an awful airport. My biggest gripe is that there is only one baggage carousel for domestic and another for international. It doesn't sound like a massive problem as it's a small airport but I don't know how they can manage to make it so bad. I've waited for 45 minutes before my bag turned up in the past. The best option for how to improve Aberdeen airport would be to knock it down and replace it with a train station that takes you to Glasgow or Edinburgh airport

STN is my main airport, never in 15 years I had any problems. I don't travel from London tough, I use car. Don't remember flights delayed but I fly Ryanair not Easyjet. Don't use lounges anyway,

Here's my problem with Escape lounge, even if you have a priority pass they will not let you in when the lounge is full or if they have a lot of reservations ahead of time. Just like Gatwick, the Aspire lounge will actually not let you in regardless if you have priority lounge or not. You can pay a fee to get into the lounge, but if you're paying for lounge access through your credit card, why would you give another 5-15 quid? Stansted is good, but how much was a return ticket from Stansted? 19 seems like a lot one way, was the peek or off peek?

Love the channel and your content. Fair points on Stansted which are all valid. I work their so know our pros and cons. I feel though starting from Trafalgar Square isn’t really fair, as it no the airports fault about London Underground connection to Tottenham Hale or Liverpool Street.

I have to say in my opinion I’d say Edinburgh airport is slightly better. We have a nice layout with restaurants in the centre and beside the gates so you can always grab a snack. We have a cheap tram AND bus service into the heart if Edinburgh. I have never expierienced many delays there and it has a nicer feel than Glasgow. It feels big but not too overcrowded and it’s even easier to get into town. I recommend checking it out

As a STN spotter, I'm a big fan of how friendly they are with spotters, it's easy to reach via National Express. Heathrow is harder to get to for me, it depends on where you live

Great video again, nice to see a visit to Scotland. As a Glaswegian, I don't think that Glasgow Airport deserves to be the best purely because they replaced the Tesco next to the domestic arrivals with an M&S! Also no rail link, which would undoubtedly be cheaper than the bus. I find it hard to believe that Stansted is worse than Southampton Airport. If you want a real bad airport, take a visit to Paris Beauvais or Berlin Tegel.

Stansted is a doddle to get to. Get the Airport Bus Express which you can book in advance through Easybus for £5 or £7 with National Express and takes just under or often under 1hr 25min. You make it look so hard to get to EGSS from central London, by using the Tube, when it is dead easy by getting the bus from London Victoria 😂

Stansted looks nice compared to Leeds/Bradford. No train service and a bus out of town can be a nightmare in rush hour. Takes about 50 mins to get there from Leeds on a good day to go to a scruffy airport. The waiting in the gates to board the plane is like walking in 1960s East Germany. Only good thing is the boots just after security where you can click and collect all your suncreams which you can't take through security

For what it's worth, stansted isn't actually a bad airport in terms of what it was built for. It was built in the 60s to accommodate the influx of families travelling on package holidays during the summer, and it shows with the airlines that flow in and out. It's "commuting failures" aren't really a flaw when you consider it's mainly used by families living in suburban areas who will drive there, and the building itself is large, spacious and naturally lit, and restaurant options are numerous. Luton airport on the other hand is a small box with ongoing construction work, served by the busy M1, making delays to and from the airport frequent, and complicated parking.

As somebody from Norwich, Stansted being in "London" always makes me chuckle! That said, London Luton, London Southend. Its the likes of Ryanair having the influence to get the airport to rename and integrate London.. Give it time and eventually it'll be "London Glasgow"

Honestly it isn’t fair to bring stansteds score down because of commute from Trafalgar Square, people usually leave their houses and go straight to their closest airport, not pop down to Trafalgar Square for some sightseeing then head all the way over to stansted as opposed to far closer airports, apart from that great video quality as usual 👍

The best one to me when coming to London is definitely LCY, sadly there are few international routes. LHR would be the runner up (great lounges but it can get busy).

STN - I like it. Accessible since I don’t live too far. It’s nice if you want to go somewhere somewhat nearby, we used to go to Lanzarote. But since it doesn’t go to that many places it’s obviously not the best one. From what I remember, it was small enough to not feel overwhelmed but not too small to feel cramped And the security was quite chilled.

Make sure you don't travel to stansted after 11pm! The catwalk/ ramp from station platform to inside airport was closed.... With no clear signs as to an alternative route. With my mother on crutches I had to wander off to find a 2nd route. After randomly walking down a footpath that said parking and taxi.... It did lead to a broken lift... Then a working lift. Once at the lift I saw a sign saying lift to check in 🙄. That sign should be next to the closed ramp/catwalk. 🙄 Because most of the shops were closed we noticed people lying and sleeping all over the floor due to lack of seating. There's plenty of space to have those metal benches but Stanstead chose not to. I had to steal 2 metal chairs from a closed off area of Costa so my mother could sit rest. When returning from Spain walking through arrivals you automatically walk to the first exit... With arrow down signs suggesting through the exit are Taxis, bus, coach, parking and trains...we soon realised there is no direct path to trains through the exit.... The aarow down sign for trains ment "to go down... Underground" 😂🤭... So after walking back into the airport and wandering.... There was a lift with same down arrow sign with additional text via lift🙄 again that sign should be at the logical First exit everybody flocks to... But no. Exiting the lift you then have to look around for the ticket machines. I had 2 people ask me if I knew what platform and what train to get for their connecting train... As none of the Led signs say what train connects to other popular locations.... A simple printed graphic just to point out "platform 1 train goes to blah blah for connecting train to Norwich. For first time travelers to Stanstead it didn't seem to logically cater for that.... Now I know its quirks and stupidly placed lazy signs if I go again I know to take my own fold up seat😳

I go to Stansted airport college which means I travel from Luton airport to Stansted airport (there is a direct national express). I go inside both terminals everyday. Before security, there is hardly that many shops at Stansted compared to Luton. The reason why Stansted has so many delays is because the airport was built over a swamp which means the taxiways have to be shut for repairs.In my opinion, commuting to Stansted is easier than Luton. If you go by train to Luton, you will then have to spend another 10 mins waiting and travelling on another bus to the airport. As well as this, there are more local buses that travel to Stansted as well as a wide range of national express coaches. The bus you went on in Glasgow is the same as the bus that travels between Southend, Chelmsford and Stansted every 25 mins. Stansted is very good for a low cost airline airport and is definitely better than Luton airport.

When I lived in Walthamstow, it wasn’t too difficult to get to Stansted as it was only a bus and the train from Tottenham Hale. Great videos though.

You can get into Manchester City Centre from Manchester Airport on Stagecoach Manchester 43 bus service and a day ticket is only £5. The buses are brand new 100% electric buses with e-leather seats and USB charging ports.

As a Cambridge resident, I'm a big fan of Stansted, does what it does very well. Also a gold BA Member, so if you want the luxury you don't go to STN, if you want convenience and cost then go to STN. I've had some shockers from Luton so I avoid that at all costs

I think the worst part about going to airport in London underground is how little space they have in the actual trains so you can't really sit if u have big luggage? You have to stand in the corner near exit points and make yourself as small as possible for ppl going in n out the train

London STN is a good airport if you don't live far from it. Its the joint least accessible London Airport for me, but I have had some amazing trips that would not have likely happened if it weren't for London STN.

My favorite still my local airport London Gatwick there's never been a time I've had a problem with the airport large amount of amenities and a good amount of transport links to central London with the express and southern rail services

Delays in Stansted are probably because it's Ryanairville. This is made for Londoners - Stansted is close for many who live north of London.

Best airport is Doncaster/Sheffield. Takes about 10 minutes to get airside, and the entire terminal is basically a Wetherspoons. Liverpool is decent too. Worst airport I've used is Luton, way too small for the amount of passengers

Interesting to get your views. As a Glaswegian it shames me to admit I actually prefer Edinburgh Airport. I have no statistics to back this up, it just feels faster and less clunky. Especially when arriving from international flights.

The Stansted Express train takes 43 mins from London so about 32 from Tottenham Hale. It’s the second stop from TH to the airport. Have you see the price of the Heathrow Express? It only goes half the distance.

Couldn’t agree more with this, Stanstead always disappoints, I try and avoid is as much as I can. Glasgow was a revelation when I was there in December. BA Lounge was very cosy, one of the best ones. Thanks for the video, you guys rock!

Normally I would suspect actually Northern Line to Tottenham Court Road and then Central Line to Liverpool St would be easier - but there's no connection there at the mo because of Crossrail work. Bakerloo to Central at Oxford Circus is quite a long walk compared to Victoria which is virtually a cross platform change if I remember rightly.

Glasgow really needs a rail link. You can get a direct train from Glasgow central to Manchester Airport but no train to Glasgow airport?! The bus is fine if you happen to live in the centre of Glasgow but it’s a bit of a hassle to get to otherwise IMO.

Stansted is the closest airport for me (my local does international flights but not cheaply), i've used it for years. My only complaint is the seating when its busy (and you dont have lounge access) and dont want any food/drink, the departure seating area is just rock hard wooden seats or plastic box seats :(

Stansted is always my airport of choice! If you are out of London, then its easier to get to that Gatwick and Heathrow. I will never ever fly from Luton... it's scary.

I go to Glasgow a lot for Holidays and work. I mostly use Virgin Atlantic because their flights fit in perfectly with my schedule. It’s a brilliant airport, although I had a problem with Icelandair once. The flight was delayed for 30 mins first, not bad. Then 1 hour and 30 minutes. Then 4 hours. I missed my connecting flight. When I arrived at Reykjavik I went to get a hotel for the night and there was only one employee working there so it took 3 hours to get my hotel. Then I had the bus journey which took an hour or two. I’m not using that airline again.

Also the down side of Stansted is the carriers are all budget! No issue with budget carriers however it does limit choice. Personally would / do travel to one of the more centrally located London Aiports for a wider choice! Also... How did Luton not rank as the worst?

Honestly, I was at Stansted airport just a couple of months ago to go to Spain. I agree with the expense for travel and how long it take to get there. It took me and my sister around 3 hours to get there from Nottinghill Gate at night time. But other than that, things were cool at that time 😊

A bit surprised to see Edinburgh airport so high on the list. As my "home" airport delays are frequent, it's always rammed and security can take 5 minutes or over 30 minutes which for a tiny airport is a bit of a nonsense. It's an airport that's way too small for the number of flights going in and out - any delay or cancellation and you're not going to be sitting down anywhere, even in a lounge.
