Very nice, +VinylCheese! When I composed this back in the naughties I didn't expect it to show up in this form. It's been played by orchestras ... and now... this way. :-)

How are you THIS superior at Famitracker? You're slowly starting to get to "Inspiration" levels of perfect.
@theoveranalysticjake3785 жыл бұрын
He mainly composes his music with little to no instruments at VERY high speeds in Famitracker to perfectly recrate every frame and nuance of a song.
@oscwavcommentaccount5 жыл бұрын
I think he uses high speeds in Famitracker, but not overclocked. BTW overclocked can run on a real NES, it would just take up more cpu usage.
@danielcogan82055 жыл бұрын
MΛRTYNΛSPLΛYZ But his remixes do use stereo, which an unmodded NES doesn’t support. His songs are still awesome without it, it’s just a small touch that makes them that much better

You can enlarge the waveforms in Audacity by normalizing the individual channels, but this is a good first try though. Great job in making a cover of this song 👍🏽

yes dankje and I knew that before making the video, but I didn't have a player yet to play this file type so I had no idea what it looked like until I uploaded it.
@SuperJet_Spade7 жыл бұрын
VinylCheese you can use VLC Media Player to see what the video would look like before uploading it to KZbin
@vuurniacsquarewave50917 жыл бұрын
The latest SidWiz should also let you watch the video being rendered (which you disable at any point to make the rendering faster) and that helps you by not having to render a full video just to see that it's not what you were looking for.

This is just fantastic, but there's something I never got with some composers like Tim Follin or Jeroen Tel. What's with that "staircase" triangle wave ? I mean, the question more specifically applies to Follin - I don't know if Tel ever did something on NES, which was a far more limited system, but Follin and now VinylCheese prove that even within these limitations this effect can be created. My question is, what is it ? And how is it made ? Why does the triangle look like that ?
@SwissVinyl7 жыл бұрын
It's just the way the triangle wave looks when played at low frequencies. It looks that way because the wave is rather low resolution. It'd look about the same if you had a 32-step N163 triangle wave.
@blara24017 жыл бұрын
So is this just visual evidence of binary shifts/steps, made evident because the frequency is low enough to see the details of the wave ? Do all triangle waves on all types of chips do that ?
@SwissVinyl7 жыл бұрын
it depends on the bit depth of the wave. smaller bit depths will look and sound rougher, while larger bit depths will look and sound cleaner and smoother. Example (N163 again): a 32-step sine wave to a 64-step sine wave.
@blara24017 жыл бұрын
Why thank you, good sir, both for your patient answers and amazing musical content.
