How to Make a Slab Box

This is how I make simple ceramic slab boxes. Slab boxes are great because you can customize them and make them very individual. But to start with it helps to learn the basic box shape. In this video I make two slab boxes, one is a glazed box with a lid, and the other has the same measurements, but it is a textured slab box. Try a piece of drywall or gypsum board. The talc/clay SHOULD (in theory…should) ensure even drying

Try adding a clay hinge and allow the lid to open.

Hello, I actually made the corners and latch out of clay and then used gold luster over glaze to make them look like metal. I hope that helps
