Thank you so much for the movement breakdown! I love it! My one question--I'm trying to combine unilateral and bilateral movements into a complete slow and steady leg workout. Would you recommend completing these step downs before jumping into the heavy bilateral stuff (front / back squats etc)? Or reverse the order; i.e., finishing with the unilateral movements?

But what's the difference?

Anterior step-downs do as applied and target the front leg better, they are great for knee rehabilitation, strength, and ankle mobility as well, especially as you progress through height. The Lateral step-downs can actually have more activation in the adductors and abductors. The Posterior does as the name applied as well and helps get a deeper stretch in the glutes.

Do the 3 different types work different muscle groups or are all the same? Should I be doing all 3? Thanks

Tnx! Excellent demonstration video and your comments in the text are an important extra. There is still another alternative: one step anterior, followed by a step posterior. Makes is less boring...? What is the progression of reps you would suggest?
