I will start this off by saying I'm an old man. So when I say how beautiful this young lady is, her husband won't get jealous. I could just sit and listen to her talk. The honesty and sincerity In her voice is a blessing. And as a man talking to another man, I will say to your husband to CHERISH THIS LADY LIKE GOLD ! This one is special.

Man I gotta tell this story and I swear to God it is true. A few years back I got a friend of mine a pressure cooker like this and he came over to our house to get it and wanted to test it out. I got him out a few packs of venison and asked him to do it out front of the house. We lived in a small town at the time and after a while the cops showed up. They said a neighbor called them saying someone was cooking meth right outside our house. I couldn't believe they did that because you could smell the meat everywhere out there. The coos laughed when they seen what it was all about.

Deer season opens here Saturday. I usually grind most of it with beef tallow. Tacos, chili, spaghetti sauce, minestrone, anything you would use ground beef. I seldom eat beef and when I do now it tastes strong.

We love to can deer meat too. We love to put one slice of bacon on top of the meat in each jar before putting the seal on and the ring. Oh my goodness! That one slice of bacon in each jar makes it amazing to taste! When we are ready to eat it, we dump the jar in a pot with a can of cream of mushroom soup with no water. The juices from the canned deer meat mixed in with the can of cream of mushroom soup makes its own gravy in the deer stew! Amazing over rice! It’s so good! My husband just celebrated his 45 th deer season! Today is his birthday! He’s 57! So blessed!

I raised my kids on deer meat and they now range in age from 35 to 43 and it is still their favorite. Too many people don't know how to care for it after harvesting, so some people think it's gamey...which it is if you don't dress it and get it cooled down as soon as possible. Congrats to Austin! Hope God grants me the physical strength to get out and hunt some this year....love to have the freezer filled.

I love breakfast for dinner! When I was growing up, we had it quite often: Mom would scramble eggs, Dad would cook up sausage patties or sometimes even links, and fry bacon, and the drippings from those would be used to make gravy. A big ol' tower of toast completed our feast. Us kids all thought of it as a treat, but when Mom passed and we were all sitting around reminiscing, one of us remembered that breakfast for dinner would always happen near the end of the month, and it dawned on us that it was because there was barely any dinner food left and precious little money to go buy more till Dad would get paid on the 1st!

Hi Corie, your supper looked delicious. Here’s a tip for you on removing the silver skin: If you take the point of the knife and can get under it just enough to lift/release it from the meat (enough to get a good grip on it), take a piece of paper towel and use that to grip the slippery silver skin and just pull it off. It works well and you loose less meat. I always do this when removing the silver skin from my pork ribs, it’s so much faster too. Hope this helps. Deer season will soon be opened here in our Province (🇨🇦) and we can hardly wait. My husband, our son & I all hunt and enjoy the savings $$$, as well as the fact that it’s healthier meat! Congratulations Austin, well done!

We canned a bunch of beef and deer meat this past February. We get a half a beef every year, so what we didn't eat from the year before we can it. Canned meat lasts longer and doesn't freezer burn. Canned meat is so tender and doesn't take long to prepare for a meal. Glad Austin was able to harvest a deer and I hope he gets a few more.
