'BLADE RUNNER: NIGHT QUEST' Los Angeles 2049: Out of the foggy night sky, a Dalec Interceptor hovercar descends to the neon-drenched streets of Downtown dystopia. Lightning strikes and deep thunder rolls across the sky burning with the fires of old. Acid rain begins again. Yuri Borin, Blade Runner in black, exits the gull-winged vehicle. "Well, here I go again, hunting my own kind. Just an ordinary day" Borin enters the Nimbvs nightclub of vice and muzik very nice. Luminous light invades the darkness and shines upon new dancer Kitten. The minx takes the stage as Synthwave washes over the electric dark souls of replicants and rogues. The lone blade runner looks down from the balcony as the pink-pantied pleasure model performs to a special musical mix. Biologically perfect blonde hair dances about her back. Rutger, a Nexus Six combat model, enjoys the show seated at a table in the front row. Rutger and Kitten, not of this world, are trespassing replicants. They have escaped the abyss of Offworld servitude. On Elysium, paradise for a privileged few, they met and became lovers. But this Utopia was unwelcoming to them. They hijacked a hyperspace ship to Earth on a journey for more life, to find a cure for the Chronos virus. This voracious virus in their programming means a early death. The Sixer, perfect killing machine, pretending not to notice the blade runner, grips his concealed blaster under the table. Rutger readies to hand it to Kitten who he has taught well. He rescued her from serving as a whore in hell. The blaster, a PKD 2019, is a weapon of choice for the Thomahawk battle group. During the Offworld Wars, Rutger was the leader of a elite combat team within Thomahawk. Operation Nightquest sent his Midnight Warrior squad of Nexus Six soldiers on a suicide run against the enemy. "We few, we band of brothers, once more unto the breach!" Rutger shouted his mantra above the roar of the Pulse engines. There was a delicate sound of thunder when the quantum bombs detonated. Thanatos attack ships were set on fire off The Shoulder Of Orion. Fiery the demons fell. Soon they came again, but they came in vain. The last of the marauding menace, attempting to penetrate well-guarded Tanhauser Gate, were nixed by Midnight as c-beams glittered in the endless night. Suddenly, Blade Runner bullets blast the blackness. Replicant blood hits the dancefloor to a retro electro beat. The last song sees the end. A frenzy of fleeing freaks covers the lovers. Kitten lays on the stage blushed rosey red. Rutger touches her hand. The hand of the one that holds not only his weapon but his heart. She slowly opens her beautiful eyes, looks into his, and whispers weakly "I dreamt a dream! What does it mean? I was a queen guarded by an angel never seen." Then his queen is dead. Rutger wipes his tears away, arms himself, and is fled. Outside the club, police rush in as punks push out the sidedoor into the heavy downpour. Rutger, amongst the hurried horde. He makes his way, soon die he may, but thinks "Not today." The fugitive's flight takes him to the front of the club. Borin catches sight of the rogue as he knocks out a hyperbike cop and steals his Stingray away. The blade runner climbs into his Interceptor and pursues the replicant into the black rain. They cut through the neon towers like a knife, speeding closer and closer to the razor's edge. Never looking back to their dark pasts, but drawing ever nigh to the bitter end. --- Replicant Rogue One
