I owned this printer for quite some time before my current printer (X1C). Still miss it sometimes, watching the delta movement is mesmerizing, and it was incredibly quiet. The only noticeable noise was retraction noises from the stepper. You can literally have it next to you on your desk and you wouldn't be bothered by it. Can't say the same about the X1C. Once a filament is set up, it is literally set and forget. Can't say I have had similar problems to you regarding quality. Very reliable, I personally did not have a single issue with this printer over its life. One has to keep in mind when this printer was released. During that time there were many small innovations that weren't that common yet, yet this printer had almost all of them. Autoleveling, silent stepper drivers, almost automatic procedure for printing etc. At the time when it was released, 'modern' core XY machines weren't that common, so it did offer a substantial upgrade over traditional Cartesian designs. I could print designs roughly 2x faster than before. Similarly, when it came out flexible build plates were not super common. The reason why I upgraded to the X1C wasn't the speed, but the ability to print technical materials and ABS (chamber, higher temp nozzle), and also a larger build volume. Part cooling fans are an easy upgrade, which I indeed definitely recommend.

You can put the extruder stepper motor in silent mode with a gcode line, (on the flsun sr). I still own mine and upgrading it soon with the klipper pad to extend its life. Not a single issue with it so far. The new flsun T1 is going to be my next one probably.

Thank you, my friend, for using our printers and for endorsing them. I will say, however, that the print will be better if you clean the PEI. A wipe with alcohol will do the trick. I hope this will give you a better experience.
@ThePrintHouse Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to test the printer! I honestly do like the SR. It has klipper now and I will work on roughly calibrating it to be a little more precise. As for cleaning the glass, I will definitely clean it. The dirty glass actually happened on the final main print that I made for the video (the question block). I have never has good luck printing on glass. It not only your printer. I have printed on many brands of printers with glass and I do not like the experience. Usually items with large surface area are very hard to remove, at least with my printing workflow.

Thanks for the sub!!! Joint the discord as well, the link is in the description!! My go to stl site has been printables for a year now, but apparently thingiverse got a major update (it used to be run down) so it's probably a good option again. Cults3d is great for paid models, but not really for browsing. Only if someone links you a model to purchase.

One thing about the glass bed, if you let it fully cooldown to room temperature then it pops right off with little resistance..... except large flat surfaces.
@ThePrintHouse11 ай бұрын
I have had hit or miss luck with medium objects on glass beds when cooled and absolutely no luck with large objects
@bunkie21008 ай бұрын
One of the great things about the fixed bed is that you can be a bit enthusiastic removing prints from the bed. I keep a very small hammer and give prints a little love tap which quickly frees them (and, often, sends them flying, which is a bit of a downside).

Easy to put on Klipper and Micro Center had them for $250 a couple weeks ago. Absolute steal. Paid $1000 used for my SeeMeCNC Rostock and it was tough to get it to print as fast at not as good quality.

For some reason they did put in the cheapest extruder money can buy. I had mine delivered 2 days ago and immediately on the first print I could see the extruder needed to be changed. I'm waiting for a OMG V2S All Metal Gears extruder to be delivered. And, yes I did purchase a pei plate from Amazon which is arriving tomorrow. Other than that a few mods and it's good to go. To be honest I had a lot less hassle setting up the Q5 directly out of the box.

I think this printer is quiet, but the hotend cooling isnt adequate, so after that upgrade it will get louder. If volume is important to you, I think there are better options.

You forced it to fail the caliper test by not knowing how to use calipers. And watching you be unable to wait 2 minutes for the build plate to cool off so the pieces come off with pinky pressure, that was just strange. Are you 12 and have to have everything now now now noooow?
