How can the court give authority to confiscate personal assets of an employee even if it’s a mistake. Isn’t this setting a new precedent. In its zealousness to cover every loophole, these strict rules will mean only one thing - no government employee will touch any unauthorized construction. While the almighty government will still find ways to do what it wants to do. In the end, it’s a lose lose decision.

All said and done, Bulldozer Justice , though unlawful, was the only way open to a stern ruler like Yogiji, to bring some sense of lawful State, from the totally anarchic State he inherited from successve Congress, BSP and Yadav Governments due to their promotion of Goonda raj. Normal lawful procedure could never bring the situation as of now. It WAS the need of the hour. It served the purpose and now we can try to do the same lawfully However, neither the Police not Judicial System here is ready to bring law's heavyhand in reasonable time. Police dept all over the country is corrupt to the core and subservient to the politicians. And the Law moves at snails pace So, one has to thank the Bulldozer that has given a reprieve to the ordinary citizens of UP, in particular.

I am looking for some information from this judgement and how it can impact the legal and authorised properties within the buffer zone (water bodies) because of NGT rules. The property in question has all the approvals by major authorities from 2006, and construction happened in 2010. But NGT came much later and put them in buffer zones. People have put their hard-earned money into buying their dream house, and suddenly, one law or notification makes them into a buffer zone. It affects people both mentally and financially as they can't sell their properties at the market price. There should be clear guidelines for this kind of case, where there is no mistake of the house buyers as there was no such rule before. I hope this rule will put proper guidelines for this kind of legal and authorised property. When I say this, I am not against the environment and lake protection, considering the future generations. I completely support it. Once a house is built,.However, the Supreme Court can put proper guidelines, procedures and compensation measures in dealing with this kind of legal and authorised property. guidelines should be there even when the house is old and the resident wants to demolish and build it again, Approvals should be given or the government should acquire it if they really need it for environmental purposes with proper compensation measures.

I guess most common citizens like me do not read these judgements and base their opinions on narratives, half information given by media. But I did better this time and as per my limited understanding after reading it, in this particular judgment, the court seems to have taken a balanced approach. The most important provision is that this judgement "does not apply to the structures which are constructed on encroached land or which violate the pertinent laws". So you can see for yourselves what it actually means and what message it gives to the government of the day.....
