Excellent interview. In 2007 or 08, I participated in a presentation by Manish Sabharwal and thought it was the best I’ve seen. I could say the same of this interview too. Or, one of the best.

China never listened to the IMF. It has not privatized. It promoted exports by forcing foreign companies to export most of their production. It distributed power by creating town and municipal industries giving them power to give license to the foreign companies without privatisation. It kept its public sector industries in tact. India listened to the IMF, as a result it has stagnated. As a result we have extreme inequality. Unemployment became the rule.

We want China-like "Economic Growth", But we don't want One Party Goivt setting long term Policies and Goals for next 50 years. We want China's Long-term "Stable Governance" model but we don't want Illegal Immgitants and Troublemakers to be sent to re-education camps or incarceration centres. We want China's Rapid Progess and Development, but we still want the right to Protest, Block roads and Stop Govt from passing improtant Laws like Farm reforms.

I admire Indians confidence. No other developing countries in the world dare to say that they could have China's economic miracle. The speakers have confidence to talk about repeating China's economic success with little understanding of X factors in China in the past forty years.

A great choice to interview and shake up ideas from Manish Sabharwal, who is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant, intelligent & articulate IT honchos in India. These are kind of people who Modi should consider in his cabinet to design policies along with the Jyotir Scindia, Piyush, Gadkari, Vaishnav, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Jaishankar, NOT the morbidly low IQ Dharmendra Pradhans and kadi-ninda Rajnaths., horrible Manjhis. . Only then the fabled Amrit Kaal will truly flower in India Best,

Thanks Mate, the sad truth is that no one has a clue, we all react to what happens as it happens and try to analyse it but can’t predict an iota of what is going to unfold in the markets… content creators are like amplifiers, when times are good they affirm it and try to tell you why it’s good and that it’s looking bullish but then all of a sudden the market turns bearish and everyone affirms it again and try to analyse why… it’s so sad that many are so powerless and it's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 19Bitcoin in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

This is how the Left plays the game. Anyone who watched this in totality and truly understands what was said will get this TL;DR version: “BJP has done wonders in the last 10 years and if the same policies are continued then India will be a big economic power”. But for most people, they will not understand the nuances and think “freebies are killing Indian economy at States level (Congress)” and feel Central govt is doing wrong. The host brought up 1991 and then again UPA 1 to showcase their “good work” but never brought 2014 to 2024. After watching this, an ignorant person might think that the bad governance till 2014 is actually the bad governance of the ruling party today. They play such sleight of hand that we miss the entire conspiracy. NDA is god sent for India. And if UPA or whatever they call them now comes to power, India is doomed.

Why does India always like to talk about "successful as China", "Shanghai in India" or "building India`s Hong Kong" ... India should find its own way of development. Copying another country's model would never help to catch up with that country. China hardly talk about "as successful as India", or "as democratic as India" - as a matter of fact, Chinese media hardly mention India apart from the border frictions.

In last 10 years, many projects have got delayed, because Govt corruption is rampant, while private businesses are facing harassment & extortion from Govt agencies. As a result, any economic progress, like in IT is often accidental, & not due to Govt. Despite government efforts to promote manufacturing, India's manufacturing sector has declined. The high cost of production is due to inflation, which has made India less competitive. We don't need to become a Police state, coz corruption is hidden in that system. However, we need accountability, instead of using cbi,ed to go after political opponents. Shouldn't the main focus be directed towards the causes behind union Govt failure in effectively implementing & executing projects? Why has this Govt not been able to match the urbanization created by the Govt in Asian tiger economies/democracies? Indian students & parents are very worried about exam paper leaks, ruining Indian youth's hard work & future. Meanwhile, our current leaders are expert in running away from taking any responsibility for anything & only appears for the cameras, when it's time to take credit. Our latest infrastructure, often fails within months. In India, when you have connections with politicians, corrupt people commit crimes, without fear of consequences. What is use of GDP when billboard falling on people, train crashes killing innocent passengers, airport falling & killing, Agniveers & female wrestlers are crying, & paper leak spoiling youth future, while blaming everything on late PM Nehru? Pak was unlucky that Jinnah died so early & there was no leader to nuture their new nation. These days many Indians are illegally seeking jobs abroad, & there is a growing trend of people returning to farming due to lack of opportunities. Food inflation is high, & the cost of living is increasing. G0di media is supporting beating students & farmers peaceful protests. Indian youth go to live in west, coz they know that most western countries like US value free thinking (which creates innovations). According to Union Govt United District Information System for Education UDISE reports, more than 60,000+ Govt schools have closed in India.

If the tax devolution is probably about 36-38%. Even considering some direct state revenues, it’s a bit hard to believe states spend more than union. And the money spent by states are also tied to union govt schemes. So, it’s a long way to go before more decentralization to state level. The decentralization to cities will happen by gravity shortly after
@berserkhorimiya4 ай бұрын
Decentralization to cities would only happen if union government forces the states, which would require a constitutional amendment.

We should not be bad ancestors environment wise too. But these economists hardly ever talk about sustainable growth. Growth models driven by more and more consumption cannot be considered growth at all. It is these myopic economic models and halfbaked measurements of wealth, which are destroying Mother Earth and the future of our children. None of these glib talking economists ever mention corruption as an issue. Substandard infrastructure still gets counted as GDP growth. How is a bridge which collapses in 8 months, growth?

The states that give the most welfare are actually not the same. if you check GDP to debt ratio (excluding the seven sister states in NE since their revenue isn't high) , it's WB, Punjab, Kerala, Bihar, Rajasthan. I think many non BJP parties/ (INDI) alliance are using it as a way to keep BJP out of power, but when the chicken comes home to roost its the exchequer that has to bear the brunt and that mean indirectly we the tax paying citizens the middle class. 2 states which were good in the above stat are also heading to freebies and welfare states karanataka and now Maharashtra. As a country we are doomed if we allow illeterates to run our country or have a bad council giving suggestions to that illiterate.

we dont want china like industry. Just like we cant have american type of capitalism. Solutions which work for China and West will not work for India. You can force it on India by modifying solutions according to indian conditions but they will never work for most parts of country. We need Indian minds who live in India, who have experienced indian problems first hand. We need indian experts whose knowledge of country doesnt come exclusively from books. For example, our most economists are US educated or UK or similar countries. They try economic models based on western economic policies to form policies and solve problems in India. Its roughly the same as replacing the word 'USA' with 'India' in a report and calling it an indigenous solution.

Irrespective of which ever party governs the land, the bureaucracy creates stumbling block and stifles progress. Discard ED and Income Tax totally.
