Just bought a used Flip 6 from a CRACKHEAD for 8 dollars! I washed it with Dawn detergent in my kitchen sink! It's dry now, and it sounds great! I already have a new Flip 6 and Xtreme 3! I have Flip 3 and 5 too! The Flip five blew a speaker and rattles, so I don't use it anymore!

I just got my Flip 6 in blue delivered 20min ago lol Soo much better than the Flip 3 I've been using the past year. The Type C USB is the main reason I upgraded since the micro USBs wouldn't last long and with the new EQ setting in the app. Hoping the battery life is good.. now just have to find a decent case to keep it from getting scuffed up from daily use.

I bought two in the same week. Second week, one had the bluetooth go bad. Three months later, the battery charge circuit went bad in the other. Now for the past year or two, I have had two Tribit stormbox pros. So much better in so many ways. Each one is stereo in itself and can be paired in stereo mode or multiples in party mode. Tighter bass too. Don't need to mess with any lousy app either.

For low volume listening, such as on a desktop or for work/study, I find they are identical. When I'm outside with the fam having a cookout, no contest the Charge 5. Fidelity wise, the sound signature is the same. Output wise, the charge 5 is just bigger in every way. They are both awesome.

One comment that was made in the video is about it only connecting with other flip 6's. That is incorrect to a certain point. I have a flip 6, 2 of the charge 5, and 1 extreme 3 all in blue and they all connect with each other just fine using the party boost mode. So as long as you have a JBL with the party boost they should all connect and talk with each other. If you want to use the app to "stereo" the configuration then yes you would want 2 of the same speaker to do this with. All that said if you couldnt tell I am all in on the JBL speakers of late and they are all amazing.

Bought the JBL flip 6 and charge 5 on Black Friday sale and both speakers are really good would recommend the charge 5 but if your low on money and looking for a cheap option the flip 6 is the way to go

they are not even that different in price anymore... you can get the flip 6 for £99 and the charge 5 for £129.. the difference Is how portable they are. the charge 5 is obviously going to be better, but the flip 6 is lighter, smaller, got a carry loop, better shape for travelling etc.

You are incorrect about the partyboost for stereo it can only be used with the flip 6 but in party mode it can connect to all jbl speakers with partyboost

My Flip 4's batteries all died after about 2 years. I had 4 Flip 4 speakers. All gone. HORRIBLE!!! The two charge 3 speakers I bought at the same time still work though and they are about 4 years old.

The Flip 4 has two driver speakers underneath the grill, which was the reason I never upgraded to the 5. It seems this 6 has the same single speaker like the 5 but with the addition of a tweeter. In my opinion, the 4 utilizing two separate speakers, sounds slightly better than the 5. The downside is it's micro USB as opposed to 5 and 6 having USB C. I'm curious about the 6 having the tweeter though 🤔

The "party mode" will give a significant bass boost. Without it activated the bass is still very full, but not overly bass heavy, though not at all bass deficient (too much treble, or "tinny"). IDK about the volume, having never heard the 4, but it's loud enough to hear very clearly over local & freeway traffic when you have it strapped behind your seat on an e-bike & you can feel the bass when you have "party mode" activated.

There is a JBL app that allows for three EQ adjustments, Bass, Mid-range, and Treble. It allows you to raise and/or lower each setting +/- 3db , 6db, or flat/zero/nuetral.

@@ramondelgado6778 Word is that app doesn't work very well (cuts in & out, shuts unit off for apparently no reason, etc.) & of course has to be open when the J6 is on & in range while also playing music (most likely) from the same device attempting to access the website, or app.

@@david_davidson I'll have to monitor that closely as so far, I have not noticed the EQ setting had changed when the app is not open on my phone. Thanks for pointing that out. Regarding how much adjustment, I feel that it is pretty significant up or down. I just wish there were maybe 5 or 7 bands of EQ. I also feel with the bass turned all the way down, it's still too much.

Software bug JBL flip 6. Only On windows Laptop and Linux TV :- I have this issue so far, party mode don't work on either device. It only working on Android phone, and Android TV box. Didn't test on iPhone or other device.

I recently bought this speaker. Looks nice. Sounds good. But no 3,5mm contact. WHY WHY WHY NOT??? Even Clip3 has it. Taking in consider the risk with bluetooth, connecting the speaker with cable to the smartphone is very appreciated when you are within range of other unknown people.

Not many speakers have 3.5mm audio jacks anymore, and they haven't done for many years. Not unless they're cheaper models. They've been phasing it out for a while, since it's just inferior. You might find them in some proper home/audiophile/professional speakers instead of amateur stuff like this, but that will usually be bigger than 3.5mm. Portable speakers like this, tend to go the Bluetooth route since it compliments the design goal of a portable speaker. There also isn't much of a difference anymore in quality unless you need it for professional use cases.

​@@patricj951This is a bit ridiculous. There are many things in place to prevent against Bluetooth attacks on modern phones. And it's far, far down on the list of priorities when it comes to hacking vulnerabilities. You also can't perform bluetooth attacks when the target is connected to a device. It's only when the phone is searching for a device (literal seconds), and this doesn't require you to have any Bluetooth products to be a victim of. Just leaving Bluetooth turned on when you aren't using it is the only way it's going to happen. And even then, you have to be very very close to the target. You might as well just not use email. That's far more of a security problem. Or social engineering lol.

One thing I think is a design fault is the way it sits...the JBL logo sits on the top, so anytime you want to adjust the volume or pair the speaker you have to pick it up. Or sit it vertically, which I don't feel is the best way to sit the speaker. The other bluetooth speakers I have sit with the volume and connect button on top, for easy access.

@@BlackVSV6 See my Deco Home review. Those speakers and the AA battery powered Dayton DTA-1 amp cost less than $100. Yeah, they'd be not great for taking to the beach for more than once, but it's real stereo speakers for less than $100. They can play pretty long before the batteries need changing. I think $128 is waaaaaay to expensive for a Bluetooth speaker. They should be small, cheap and fit in your pocket like the JBL GO2 for $40 each. I use a pair of those, wired in stereo with a dap on my car dashboard and they sound like normal size bookshelf speakers on a desk.

its a shame you didnt compare it with the flip 4 in the sound and userbility. The flip 6 is butt ugly compared to the more subdued visual look of 4. Why on the 6 have 2 logos facing each other, each already so in your face. Its so ugly. I will stick with my 4 as the sound is really good

Yes, he said it wrong you can connect the flip 6 to all the other partyboost JBL’s and that will include the pulse 5. I use partyboost to connect my xtreme 3 and flip 6 all the time.
