Why do I think that Maria’s personality is more like part of Ashley Butler’s from GTA IV TLAD and part of Amanda’s from GTA V? I mean Ashley takes drugs and such, puts the protagonist( Johnny) to tasks that put his and her life in danger, she perpetually fucks things up.Amanda is annoying and she married Michael only for the money.Why she’s annoying-sleeping with tennis coach that angered Michael to the point he wanted to kill the tennis coach which only angered Martin Madrazo to come and smashed him with a bat telling him to bring 2,5 million dollars for reconstruction of the home Michael pulled down, that made Michael returns to his criminal life in order to be able to pay off the debts. However there is a difference in their personalitaties as well.While Maria is always ungrateful to Salvatore and doesn’t care about him at all, in Amanda’s case, she slowly but after some time she realizes that she made some bad things and decides to make peace with her husband by giving each other a chance of being faithful to each other.Also while Ashley fucks things up to the point that the protagonist is killed by some methhead, in Toni’s case, I would say he got lucky that he didn’t die like Johnny and having his entire life fucked up. So in other words, OD’ing, taking pills, and a lot of drugs, fucking things up for the protagonist, reminds me more of Ashley while being annoying and marrying for the money part reminds me of Amanda.

I dont think Claude would ever get a position on the family, even Joey mention that Claude is not italian. I imagine that if the Leone would had kept Claude he would had remained an associate, a mere hitman. like Niko in gta 4 who ended up working directly for Jimmy Pegorino, Pegorino never made the suggestion that Niko would eventually be a made man. I think Salvatore told claude that he was going to be a made man to make him lower his guard, after all he used the same line of ¨im going to make you a made man¨ with JD. of course all of this happened because Maria told Salvatore that they were having an affair, probably to make him angry.

LCS kinda destroys Maria's character, makes plotholes like the fact that Maria never goes through withdrawal when tied up with Asuka, she never gets dopesick. Instead she calls in chatterbox asking for relationship advice in GTA 3. She spends the majority of GTA 3 with Asuka and neither of them seem to be on drugs, as a matter of fact, the Yakuza give you a mission to kill yardies for selling drugs. So Maria is faded all strung out in LCS and none of that is present in GTA 3? Yeah there's a mission where she gets drugs at the beginning, but it's not implied she's like Ken Rosenburg with cocaine. Ken Rosenburg goes to rehab and you can tell how much drugs have effected him, he's totally addicted and is shoving half of Bolivia up his nose every night. So Maria's suppossed to have a needle in her arm too, she gets kidnapped by Catalina. When she gets saved by Claude, she's complaining about a broken nail. She's not even phased by just having been kidnapped, forced away from all the drugs, she's still acting completely normal when Claude saves her, she doesn't mention anything about needing more spank or coke or heroin or meth or having to go somewhere to get her fix. Instead she's complaining about a broken nail. Yeah I call bullshit, there's no reason for her character to be such a fuck up in GTA LCS if in GTA 3, which is 3 years later, her character is already established as not suffering all those problems. She even calls chatterbox in GTA 3. Yeah LCS kinda fucked up her character, not gonna lie.

Maria has likely partially kicked her drug addiction by 2001, because she was living with Salvatore. Salvatore likely heard all about her drug habits from Toni, and kept her around for his self image as well as in order to make sure she doesn’t get arrested because she knows a lot. Asuka likely has some sort of friendship with Maria and makes sure Maria doesn’t use drugs so that she doesn’t become a liability. Regardless, Maria was affected by her drug addiction in the long run, and it probably made her delusional. However she’s not as bad as she was in LCS because she admits her faults. Also it’s even possible she still used drugs but on a lesser extent due to how she doesn’t get into much trouble in GTA 3, with her noteworthy troubles being saying to Salvatore that she and Claude are involved.

Honestly I have an theory that Maria’s and salvatore’s relationship is kinda like michael’s and Amanda’s from gta v. At first I don’t think Maria married Salvatore because of his money, there were plenty of other rich people who she could marry but she married him. I think at the beginning she did kinda love him and Salvatore did too. However at one point one of them cheated on each other. I think it’s more likely to be Salvatore since in gta 3 he is an frequent customer of sexclubs. Maria got angry at him and probably also started to cheat and their relationship fell apart. Yeah, good point. At least we don’t know Maria’s background before events of SA in 1992. It’s easy to say that she’s a gold digger. We don’t know what type of girl she was before 1992. The only thing we know about her is that she was born approximately in middle of 70’s, possibly in 1974 or 1975. So, she was 17 or 18 in SA. We don’t know about her early years. She was a usual child with her whole life ahead or she got badly raised in a poor and dysfunctional family and went to LV to work in the Mafia casino just to find someone rich and powerful? We don’t know. We also know that Maria is not the only child in the Latore family. She also has a sister. Which one, older or younger, history is silent. If we see her first appearance in Freefall mission where Sal began to show signs of attention of her she despised and resisted him in question “who is this pretty thing?”. By calling Maria a gold digger you’re not so far away way from truth, but you forget to say that Sal is a lustful womanizer, manipulator and narcissist who see her only as a trophy, as a thing, not as a woman. Women for him are just toys. I wish she could have strong character and fortitude to cut Salvatore’s insidious seducing tentacles and stay in LV because she deserved much better, worthy and young guy than this paranoid, manipulative and narcissistic bastard and lustful womanizer Salvatore. Salvatore didn’t deserve Maria. He poisoned and ruined her life.

My theory is that Maria wanted her husband killed to get his money. Well, she had no feelings for him and used him as a source of income. When Salvatore died, she went on a holiday and after that had a shopping trip. No signs of sadness. Also, she was probably motivated by Asuka, who was Yakuza's leader - a rival gang for the Leone Family. No wonder Asuka ordered Claude to kill the boss just when he started working on her. And the fact that Maria was a friend of her husband's rival gang leader is stupid as well. Then why did Maria cause so much drama that almost led to Claude's death? I guess it's because Maria didn't really know Claude's personality - she thought he was devoted to his mighty boss, but, in fact, in 2001 Claude had no attachment to anyone except for Catalina. So she made it all to make Claude feel betrayed. And after Salvatore died, Maria's lifestyle hadn't changed - she still had money and was bored every day. Otherwise, she would have to get a job. I doubt she lived on Asuka's money. Smart move.
