The producers tried to make it clear that the show is fiction, even if it is based on the real-life Ibrahim family. I like the way they have recreated a tiny strip of bars and strip joints that dominated tabloid headlines from the first time I picked up a newspaper. The lockout laws completely changed the Cross, but Darlinghurst Road was unique for at least 4 decades.
