Why are they called “light novels”? They’re just novels, I never even knew what they were, so I bought the light novel of Overlord just to see what it was, I was expecting there to be a lot more pictures in it, I thought that’s why they were called “light”, because they had more images.

Nah Fr tho, certain “light novels” like Vampire Hunter D are literally just novels. I think generally tho light novels have larger text and therefore a bit less content than a standard novel

loved this video. genuinely jealous of what’s at your disposal!! those figure cases at Jays look so sick.. there’s NOTHING like that in my are :( not even an official half price books! there’s discount book stores but the only one that has manga has about two single rows on a shelf full. i was able to get 18 volumes of slam dunk for $75..

fun video. Honestly, love seeing the media adjacent pickups like the movies and video games. I really think to expand your channel you should start doing blu ray haul videos (where the video focus is purely movies and it's not tagged onto the end of a manga haul video) and branch into that niche. I definitely see your channel evolving from purely manga collecting to more a physical media channel. You have great taste and I love seeing the things you get into Also lol at "I got these (4) volumes for $12.50 ea so the total came out to like $41" xD

Don’t laugh, I had a 10% off coupon 😤 But thanks for the comment, I have been interested in doing other types of videos about games and movies. The problem is that the vast majority of my subs won’t care to watch videos solely about stuff other than manga. But at the end of the day it’s my channel, so you can expect to see the occasional manga-unrelated video pop up here and there!

@@ThePromG sounds good man, looking forward to them! I just watched Edge of Tomorrow last night and thought it was incredible. So much so that I immediately ordered All You Need is Kill right after. I was on that Tom Cruise train and watched Minority Report today. Was a great sci fi flick that played as a horror film to me since I'm a conspiracy nut. Recommend both, especially Edge of Tomorrow. Truly a great film

I want to protect my manga from moisture and have ordered Manga Bags from Ultimate Guard. 🤔 However, I'm wondering if it's possible to craft my own "bags" and achieve the same effect. For instance, I could wrap the manga in a roll of plastic wrap and seal all the edges with tape. This would likely be more cost-effective, and the wraps would be truly airtight. Otherwise, I'd have to buy 100 bags for 10 different manga sizes, and none of them fit properly or have varying amounts of air inside. Not only does it look bad, but it's counterproductive if there's air trapped inside. I and many others have already done this, namely covering textbooks with this type of plastic wrap. It's essentially the same thing, right? 🤷🏼‍♂️ And I'm willing to take the time since I'd be putting them in a bag anyway. So, the duration isn't really an issue. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with my "issue." Thank you! 🙏🏻

Don't wrap your manga. All you would be doing is trapping moisture inside which would not allow your books to breathe.

@@gabrielk. Not let your manga be exposed to sunlight. Keep your manga in an air conditioned area that doesn't go from hot to cold and vice versa drastically.

2:16 Oh each volume of Noragami is a completely different colour, they look nice, I love really colourful spines, I’ve just started to collect it. 3:05 Does that have an outer cover? I just bought the first volume of Burn the Witch and it looked like in the picture that it had some sort of outer sleeve cover or something.
