I LITERALLY just built a new pc after 8 years and went with the z790m elite axe i’ve. I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t recognizing the file. Then I find your video and realized I hadn’t extracted the files onto the usb…..Thank you. What perfect timing for you to upload this gem ❤

Quick side note. I didn’t format the USB at all and left it as NTFS. Everything worked out fine and the motherboard received the update. Is that suppose to happen?

Absolute life saver! Full time streamer and updated to a 14700k back in May. Was experiencing so many blue screens and the only thing I could think of was updating the bios since the 14th gen chips were having huge problems during its launch. wait so yours booted with the i7 14700k? did you have the 1.1 or 1.0 im currently trying to build mine but cant flash update my bios for some reason unless Im supposed to use a usb 3.2 instead of 2 (which is what they tell you to use)

@ I have the 1.0 my usb didn’t detect at first but it was because of the USB model. Make sure to format to fat32 and that’s when it worked for me

I have a Z790 Aorus Elite AX 1.0 with a 13700K. I was running on F3 and never noticed any temp problems. I just updated to F12 successfully. Let me tell you about paying attention to revisions with this motherboard. There are two revisions that are distinct but not labeled right. I have a 1.0 and there's also the 1.x (1.0). And the only way to tell them apart is by looking at the VRM Capacitors around the CPU. The 1.0 is 7 across and 7 down. The 1.X (1.0) is 6 across and 8 down. The 1.0 that I have is a 70A VRM and yours and the 1.X (1.0) is 90A VRM which is better suited to the 14900K with out worrying about voltage control.

i have the same motherboard and i have been waiting for the new bios to come as an update on the Gigabyte control centre but it hasnt but when i saw the man that helped with my build put out this video, it made me super happy! thanks for teaching me how to update my bios and not having to wait for it to come!

This process is nothing at all like the one for my MSI Z790 mobo...heck of a shame that motherboard manufacturers can't standardize the process and naming conventions for these BIOS updates. Nevertheless, it's a fairly simple procedure as long as you _carefully_ follow instructions...or excellent demos like this. Thanks, Prawn...

It does need to be easier. Especially at the moment with the issues. Gigabytes command center update system makes it really easy to be fair. Weird it doesn't have the latest one tho

@@TheProvokedPrawn i was going to update my BIOS through the Gigabyte Control Center but I heard its an unneccesary risk as updating through BIOS can bring in various factors such as software crashing and what not, so maybe its best to update BIO through the traditional method.

Good demo, but be cautious with new bios especially with beta versions. It's best to wait a few weeks at least so you're not the testsubject :). Apart from that it is a good idea to make a follow up on how to take control with bios settings protecting your cpu from high voltages besides depending on the updated microcode. Like setting up PL1-2, locking all cores to -100Mhz on turbomode and setting IA Voltage limits, Loadlines etc. Maybe even talking about disabling HT and e-cores and the differences on FPS in Windows 10/11.

had a few issues trying to update my bios, have a Z790 AORUS MASTER (rev. 1.0) and latest at time of this is F16b I downloaded it onto a usb which I did format but in formate settings it said exFAT as the only option so this may ahve been the issue ? anyhow when I went to the f8 flash bios options it endied up saying "unknown bios settings" and wouldnt let me progress so was forced to use the GCC update which only had f15 not the newer F16b, it did update to f15 and is working fine (fingers crossed) but yeah is that normal or did I mess up soemthing ? also the GCC is so freaking cheaky and rude and just outright tries to instal norton any time I open it and have to force crash ot to stop, feels extreamly illigal that their own in house update center forcefuly tries and puts norton on my system without permission any tiem I try and use it, from what I hear thats normal ? how have they not been told off for that bs -.-

Temperature got higher when stressing the CPU after installing this bios 0x129 I have I5 13600K temps are 85 max I think iam going to version I use to have. Temps are normal in games though.

Hi, just need a bit of advice, I have an old system with a ROG Maximus Hero X mobo, I have never updated the bios since I bought the system in 2018 ( Bit of a newbee and was worried about doing anything to the bios) I was looking to upgrade to Windows 11 but pc health check reports I need TPM 2.0. There is a bios update in the list to fix this problem but I was wondering if I need to install all the previous bios updates first or does the latest bios update include all previous versions? Thanks

hi, after accidently upgrading my bios from GCC to F2 version ... my pc rear fan and bottom two fan stop working, what could go be the reason can you help, top 2 cpu fan working fine

I don't believe that's related but have you checked the fan controller settings in the bios

@@TheProvokedPrawn yes , i look into it in BIOS, all other fan are set to auto, zero rpm no response to full speed. Fan control software is only detecting CPU fan Hw moniter also showing one fan.. Is it the connection issue or a hardware issue... Light fluctuation is an issue here but as far i can remember it happened after the bois update ...first I thought it was reset to work only after a specific temp rise.

One comment.. make sure you Re-enable Secure Boot. Otherwise your windows startup/shutdown times will take forever. Bios wiped that setting out for me.
