Prawn here with a tips and tricks video on what NOT to do with your all in one liquid cooler when considering a push/pull setup with multiple fans.
In theory adding more fans to your radiator is a great idea as it means more airflow and therefore cooler liquid inside the radiator and better cooling performance. However, there are a few things to think about and mistakes to avoid, so I'm showing what those are here so you can plan out your build. I'm using the NZXT Kraken 280 Elite RGB for demo purposes here • NZXT Kraken 280 Elite ... but the logic will also apply to other all in one CPU coolers too.
Things to think about:
- Planning out your push pull setup BEFORE you do it, so you know there's space in the case
- Thinking about whether the radiator or the fans or the tubes will be a problem for the GPU
- Making sure the fans are facing the same way
- Not mixing different fans with different airflow capabilities and speeds
- Planning out how you're going to connect them (will your system handle multiple fans?)
- What extra cables will you need? Do you have enough SATA power? And USB headers?
As you'll see there are a lot of things to think about that could cause issues.

Your shorter videos are so helpful for breaking down small aspects of a build. The longer ones are better for seeing how complicated things can get but also, how those complications can be worth it for a really well functioning and good looking build.

@@TheProvokedPrawn Yeah. I think one of the upsides to the long videos is seeing the full process and how it comes together. I imagine it can sometimes be hard to apply the knowledge gained from lots of short videos. It also helps give a good idea of an ordering of process, so you don't end up getting some things in the way. Also just in general it's all in one place so you don't have to look through loads of videos. I'm glad you make videos in both styles because if I need a more focused and detailed breakdown on one particular aspect of a build the short videos can really help me get my head around it. Thanks for the great content, keep up the good work.

Thxn for the video, a clear arguments to not use such a setup, besides the most important one: the terrible cooling due to turbulent flow as its never in balance (in out). Next the flow velocity, that is likely to fast, that actually decreases cooling as you create a thermal boundary.

With a 240mm instead of a 280mm in this case (well at least in the H510 flow, I think it will work here) you have the room to mount the rad and pusher fans in front of the bracket and just put the pullers behind. So you could easily clear that video card. You might be able to do a 280mm if you cut the bracket to allow the tubes to pass through.

A few corrections at 3:43 (unless I'm misunderstanding something): - The NZXT H7 Flow case does NOT come with 3 140mm fans mounted to the front. It comes with 2 F120 Quiet Airflow fans accordion to the specs on NZXT's website. - The quiet airflow fans it comes with do NOT have the same specs as the RGB Duos. Which now I'm bamboozled! I got the H9 Flow and was hoping to use the case fans as the Pull (outside) fans for the Push-Pull config. But the specs are different, so it's probably not in my best interest to do so. So I may abandon that and just be normal. Boo!

UPDATE: I sent screw it and threw the case fans in with the RGB Duos anyways! Will report back if I experience any issues, but so far so good.

Have you made a video demonstrating a push/pull configuration with a Lian Li Galahad II LCD 360 AIO? I'm wondering if the extra fans would need a Y-splitter for both the ARGB and Fan connector to go into one port on the L-Connect box or is 6 fans going into one port too much for the unit to handle, therefore the extra 3 fans would go into it's own port and you'd set fan speed to match the initial AIO fans?

Must the in and out of the radiator not to be on the highest point, so the air always goes to the highest point, instead of the pump. Air in the pump can destroy the pump

Helllppp ! I'm building my first pc in this case. I have x2 140 at bottom, x3 that come with case at front, a rear 120 exhaust at back, 360 aio at top. I don't think x5 intakes and x4 exhaust is ok?? I was going to flip the x1 aio fan over so its a intake closest to the x3 front fans. The flipped fan would get cold air and I would have x6 intake and x3 exhaust which sounds better. Is this fine to do I've looked a couple of hours on Google etc and nobody has done this , confused why not as to me it will cool the cpu better and increase the cold air in case. So confused 😂
