It has exactly the most miles of mine, and I am also of the opinion that the Supersport S is a fantastic bike, the changes I made was to put the Akrapovic exhaust tips and belly pan carbon. Thanks for sharing the videos, they are very useful. Good curves
@bocolis885 жыл бұрын
I have the same bike for about 2 years myself and agree 100% with your findings! Only difference, I have the Akrapovic full exhaust on which really elevates the sound and gives some more performance. Same here for the quick shifter and the 1st to 2nd changes. I tend to kill the engine at stop lights on very hot days to keep the engine from over heating. Always on sport mode except for when it rains where I put touring mode only because I have other abs and traction control settings. Great bike over all!

I have 2018 S with factory panniers. One side keeps breaking bolt where it mounts to peg even when not loaded. Also my first Ducati purchased. All day comfort for my 5’8” frame except for heat between the legs. Otherwise, no major mechanical issues or need for louder exhaust

Thanks for the Review very thorough. I bought mine (2023) very recently. Its my second Ducati (currently ride an Aprilia Tuono Factory for Track days) and Triumph Thruxton & BMW R9T as daily riders. The Supersport is a great bike, love the aesthetics. I too am having issues from 1 to 2nd, my quick shifter sometimes reverts back to neutral instead of going to 2nd. With the (quickshifter in down position) Auoblipper if i’m not slowing down fast enough theres a significant jolt and the gear remains unchanged. the mirrrors are my only true gripe, all i see are my elbows and have been unable to adjust them to a better position. With the mirrors aside, I really like the bike and the ride, that very Ducati very L twin sound puts a smile on my face even with the stock exhaust.

I have this exact bike also, I also find false neutrals between 1st and 2nd, but sometimes between 2nd and 3rd. I personally bought mine for a more comfortable ride as I also commute on mine. everything you said in this vid is exactly my thoughts, its a great bike, fast, looks amazing, comfortable, has Ducati character, handles really well. The heat issue doesn't bother me personally, here in the UK where we are lucky to get 4 weeks of warm weather a year, the heat from the bike is welcomed most of the time:)
@ThePrybra074 жыл бұрын
Yeah the heat issue isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. They have to find something negative to say. Try and focus to make sure you don't move your right wrist while shifting. I have a theory that when I quick shift from 1-2 or 2-3 I flinch a little anticipating the "bite" into the next gear. I think the bike can see that throttle closing a little and it messes up the shift.

Great walk-through Braden, I’ve had my 2019 SSS for three months now, and did get to test-drive the 959 Panigale before choosing this bike, absolutely no regrets - and while it was marginally more ‘flickable’, I found the 959 really uncomfortable, lots of shunting at low revs, and painful on the wrists in slow traffic, unlike the SS. In fact the torque and ergonomic superiority of the SSS has enabled me to keep up with Panigales, V4s, and monsters over very rapid point-to-point riding on regular roads with no fuss. I have the Akro slip-ons which give the bike a deeper (not louder) sound, which i do love, and I also eliminated the throttle slop with the spacers kit you can buy - which I can’t recommend more highly. So in summary, agree that the SSS is super-easy to use every day, and equally when pushed hard over 4K revs, the bike roars with eagerness and - I’ve found - can go toe-to-toe with the best of them.
@ThePrybra074 жыл бұрын
I have thought about getting the throttle spacer. Maybe that will be a summer project... Deeper sound hmm now I want to try the slip ons

@@ThePrybra07 If you're getting 10-12 k miles on a rear tire on a sport /sport touring bike, it must be a pretty hard compound. Unless we're talking kilometers. My Dunlop Q4s I can get maybe 4k miles on the rear. About double on the front. That's with moderate to semi aggressive riding. On a full liter bike like my old R1 I would be super lucky to get 3500. I usually go through 2 rears and one front per year. Depending on how much I've ridden obviously. I like the Q3/Q4s because they are plenty sticky though and I don't mind sacrificing a bit of mileage for performance in the corners.

Ducati supersport s vs Ducati panigale V2 which one is better ?
@ThePrybra074 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't buy the v2 as a first year bike. Let them work some of the kinks out
@Sandbagsims4 жыл бұрын
i also have a 17 duc SS. i find the mirrors unuseable over 60mph. Do you notice the same? i have the barracudas on order to try.
@ThePrybra074 жыл бұрын
Yeah even after the recall they are basically useless. When I'm on the highway if I need to see behind I pull the clutch for a moment.

I noticed a 2017 for sale with about 9000 miles. I read some forums where some guys had multiple issues and some didn’t. They are asking around 9 thousand with no warranty of course. Should I be afraid?
@ThePrybra074 жыл бұрын
I mean it is a Ducati so there's risk and expense involved. There's also the beautiful looks and engine character. If the bike excites you then yeah pull the trigger

Is the false neutral thing fixable is it a problem with the transmission?
@ThePrybra072 жыл бұрын
It's just the design of the transmission and with the quick shifting. If you don't follow through with complete movement during a shift you'll end up in a false neutral.

beautiful bike but you just convince me to keep my Japanese bike. I need the reliability and inexpensive parts.
@ThePrybra074 жыл бұрын
Yup it's a little trade off. They are all toys and expensive you just have to pick what excites you. Thanks for the comment

You can't go wrong with their reliability. My father has a 1994 CBR600F2 and it's been a great bike for him.

What do you think of someone getting this as a first bike? Useability wise
@ThePrybra074 жыл бұрын
It would be a good bike as a first. It does have some decent power so you need to be smart. Take a MSF course

I’m considering buying a 950S but some people complaint about vibrations at 6,000+ rpm. Do you? Thank you.
@ThePrybra073 жыл бұрын
No vibration issues except for the mirrors
@mikeossedryver85626 ай бұрын
Mirrors are terrible.... but you just have to be more aware of your surroundings which is a good thing realy

Whats a false neutral? Is theor manual shifting on this?
@ThePrybra072 жыл бұрын
False neutral is you can be in-between gears for instance between 3rd and 4th gear in a "natural" area. Of course there is manual shifting it's a motorcycle
