@@UndergroundTech I prefer the stock Android experience because I grew up with it and I like it. and I don't need to be forced to pay Amazon subscriptions or lock screen ads. And also with stock Android you have full access to the Google Play store with trusted third-party apps and tons and tons of games to play, instead of amazons non-popular app store with short amount of apps and games to play. I could tell you more but this is it for now. and its good to talk to you I like you're videos and I'm subscribed to you're channel for a year now. And the Onn brand for me is very good I prefer Onn better, they make tv, tablets and more instead of one thing like Amazon does.

Hey appreciate the support! You're right when it comes to fire OS, its just limited, but the real crime is their app store. Thankfully you can side load it in 4 easy steps( i made a video on it recently thats 3 minutes long if you're curious) ONN has improved from their last 11.6" tablet and at MSRP is the better buy, but i will have a comparison video out soon. I use it for business, and it works like a charm with Microsoft apps on it. Streaming is superb with good quality. I don't have any complaints. Just chill, amazon is still new to the tablet market. They are improving with each new tablet they have released.

Something to note about the Onn 11 pro tablet mentioned towards the end. Those tablets unfortunately do not support Layer 1 Widevine services compared to the Amazon tablets. This means that even though the Onn 11 Pro has a good screen capable of displaying HDR content, it is unfortunately not going to stream HDR content on streaming apps like Netflix since it's only Layer 3 (DRM sucks). Being a previous owner of the Onn 11 Pro, I can safely say that the video quality on streaming apps were pretty bad looking compared to the Amazon tablets (compared it to an HD 10). It's an unfortunate trade-off since the Onn tablet is the quintessential android tablet experience. But due to DRM, it is lackluster for media consumption, which is typically the purpose of these mid range tablets. On top of that, since it's so new, and a Wal Mart brand, it has no peripherals or cases to speak of yet. If I were to choose, I'd say the Amazon 11 max (on sale) would probably be the best deal if you know how to side load the play store, which is not hard to do imo. At the end of the day, you can't have your cake and eat it. You either have a tablet with an inferior OS, but superior video streaming. Or, a tablet with a superior OS with mediocre streaming quality.

The pure android experience is all about the freedom of customization. This tablet is heavily restricted by it's modified android OS.

yeah, all the Fire tablets are, I had to put the Google Play store on my last Amazon tablet, it made it somewhat decent… this would be a lot more decent with that. They really just want you to buy/watch content from Amazon on these, that’s why they’re typically pretty cheap…

As an owner of the 2020 fire 10 the main reason I wouldn't buy another fire tablet is it not being standard android and don't feel like having to worry about various forms of hackery working to get what I want on a newer fire tablet. It's a shame the Onn 11 pro doesn't support Widevine L1 but for what I mostly use a tablet for it's hands down the better choice. Only problem with it is the lack of cases so I'm still undecided on what to upgrade to at the moment.

With ad mode you get ads on the lock screen but not when you’ve unlock the device. I don’t find it obtrusive at all.

The major problem is actually that it doesn't understand ExFat SD card format. FAT32 makes it not very portable and also wastes extra memory. It also doesn't support not Latin alphabet based languages to type. Otherwise, the device is a great, everything works and it's super fast.

It you want to use wired, their are plenty of usb c wired earphones that you can use with this and android phones too (most don't have a 3.5mm headphone socket, but do have a usb c socket). Prices starting from below £10 to a lot more!

There are usb c to 3.5mm adapters for under £10 (and better ones at a higher price). Also handy for usb c phones (or most phones) handy if you want earphones that don't need charging. I prefer to use wireless earbuds in transparency mode connected to my phone whilst driving, or a portable Bluetooth speaker if others are in the car. It gives me a lot more freedom to sue the speaker elsewhere (some great waterproof ones too).
