I feel as though it would be framed as pelvic retraction (in the coronal plane) rather than rotation? I was confused at first, but considering this terminology, it made it more understandable. What do you think? Thank you for helping us all so much!

welcome! Retraction is in the transverse plane!

Can you further explain the difference between excessive posterior pelvic tilting and increased backward rotation of the pelvis? I am having a hard time visualizing this.

Hey David, thanks for the question. So the anterior pelvic tilt is what I call, "the big booty" it's like if you were to try and stick your butt out for the world to see. Well, posterior pelvic tilting is the "tucking the tail" motion or the opposite of the big booty position. Hopefully, that is enough visual for you, lol. Next, backward rotation of the pelvis is kinda like doing the old childhood dance called the Hokey Pokey. "You put your right foot in (right forward rotation of the pelvis), you put your right foot out (right backward rotation of the pelvis). Don't forget to shake it all about all as well homie. If you are still lost.. check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boLQo5JsoLKVqtU If you need a 2D visual of these motions check out this study (go to Fig. 2 in the study) onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/ar.23552

@@ThePTHustle Kyle, thanks for all the vids. So are you saying anterior pelvic tilting is synonymous to backward rotation of the pelvis?
