The PuntFactory I’m going to try these tips because when I punt the football goes off to the side or just up in the air

Dang! Just landing on the ball of your foot for the first step gives so much power!

I’m not sure if the video said this but I have a question.When I make contact I am very inconsistent with it.I mostly make contact too high and i hit the ball on the front of my shin or I hit it on my toe. Do you have any drills that could help this? Thanks
@ThePuntFactory5 жыл бұрын
Tayem Hammad check out the arm position / body position video. That’s probably your arm being too extended and body too upright

I want to learn how to aim my punts and get them to roll back so if I get it inside the 5 it does not keep going and end up being a touch back

Sophomore highschool punter here and i average about 40 yards with 4.5 hang time. Do u think that would be enough to walk onto a college?

I train as a 2 step punter but I want to kick as far as I possibly can. Do you think the jab step punt will get more distance?
@ThePuntFactory4 жыл бұрын
ItzSparK I don’t think more steps translates to more distance at all. I think it makes you long and harder to stay balanced and keep your power underneath you! Work on your shoulders coming fwd, watch the body position video !!

Where do i strike the ball
@ThePuntFactory5 жыл бұрын
Sebas Roar that will be discussed in a future video! But... the big bone on the top of your foot is ideal!

The PuntFactory ok because everytime I strike it..the ball never spyrals

@connorfoley63595 жыл бұрын
Maybe I missed this. How long should the first step be?
@ThePuntFactory5 жыл бұрын
Connor Foley realistically around a yard! It will differ Punter to punter. Long as you’re hitting ball of your foot you will be ok!
@connorfoley63595 жыл бұрын
The PuntFactory is there a way I can send in film? I would like a few tips to increase hang time but also get around the same distance

So you said that you always hear "but this guy in the NFL takes 3 steps" and you addressed it. But my question is, if long steps are bad, why do I see most NFL and elite college guys taking a short first step and a very long, almost leaping second step? They're the best of the best and can punt 80+yd balls if they want to. So what can you say to convince me you're right about long steps being bad?
@ThePuntFactory4 жыл бұрын
Great question. I would say show me an elite punter at any level taking long steps. I would also say try an exercise. Stand up and take a 1.5-2 yard step forward with your plant leg. Feel what your balance is like? Feel which direction your shoulders are pulling / falling? Now think about hitting a full speed punt with that distance. It’s definitely an aggressive - longer then a normal walking step - step. But if you train long steps then it’s hard to be consistent. So I train short steps where punters can feel their balance and power underneath them. And then if during live punts they get a bit bigger it’s normal and natural. However train to be perfect.
