Don't discard the strings/silk/whatever-you-want-to-call-it from the inside of the pumpkin, either! It goes great in vegetable broth. Also, the skin can be fried into chips. So, really, the only parts of a pumpkin that can't be eaten are the stem, and that weird butthole thing on the bottom. XD

I want to keep it on hand for if the dogs get sick. I make a pumpkin pruee to make soup for the dogs that helps them 99% of the time. Great while you wait for your vet appointment. Then just cancel the appointment if they get better. I make the soup a little different depending on the issue but it helps with mild dehydration from throwing up, helps with vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and a blockage.

Will this help humans, too? If so, how would you recommend prepping for human consumption?
@carebear53432 жыл бұрын
@@chickchoc It would depend on the tummy issues. I love to make a nice pumpkin bread 🍞 with wheat flour. That helps me when I feel sick. I add more salt if I am nauseous. I add extra pumpkin and wheat flour if I have diarrhea or constipation. Toast the bread and butter it. Then pair it with a tea or coffee depending on your stomach issue.

It is a little more grainy - but it also needs time to rehydrate more than just the initial introduction of water. Then if you use something like a blender or bullet blender and whirl it up, it helps add a little air and makes it more smooth.
