Don't discard the strings/silk/whatever-you-want-to-call-it from the inside of the pumpkin, either! It goes great in vegetable broth. Also, the skin can be fried into chips. So, really, the only parts of a pumpkin that can't be eaten are the stem, and that weird butthole thing on the bottom. XD

I want to keep it on hand for if the dogs get sick. I make a pumpkin pruee to make soup for the dogs that helps them 99% of the time. Great while you wait for your vet appointment. Then just cancel the appointment if they get better. I make the soup a little different depending on the issue but it helps with mild dehydration from throwing up, helps with vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and a blockage.

Will this help humans, too? If so, how would you recommend prepping for human consumption?
@carebear5343

@@chickchoc It would depend on the tummy issues. I love to make a nice pumpkin bread 🍞 with wheat flour. That helps me when I feel sick. I add more salt if I am nauseous. I add extra pumpkin and wheat flour if I have diarrhea or constipation. Toast the bread and butter it. Then pair it with a tea or coffee depending on your stomach issue.

This pumpkin powder is a real hit I used 8kg of pumpkins last year from the garden 🤣 Out of all the pumpkin powder I had people took a bag thinking it was odd thing to do. I ended up giving most of it away because they loved how easy it was to use. I was amazed by how many ways it was used. my mother loved her easy pumpkin soup. In law's used it for blini pancakes and pumpkin porridge.

@ThePurposefulPantry

It is a little more grainy - but it also needs time to rehydrate more than just the initial introduction of water. Then if you use something like a blender or bullet blender and whirl it up, it helps add a little air and makes it more smooth.

I wonder if this same method would work for sweet potato? We use sweet potato like most people use pumpkin.

How to dry seeds or prepare (any fruit and veggies) to plant in ur garden? How to know which seeds are single seeded (mango and cherries have two skins or layers!) Thanks. I'm recycling all my fruit and veggies seeds to plant, also all the green veggies (onions, celery, potatoes, peppers, etc)

Leave them to air dry - the dehydrator is not the way to do it unless you have one with an air-only function.

How do you think this would work - steaming versus roasting the pumpkin? I am awaiting delivery of my new stove - 4-6 weeks out. I have lots of winter squash and no room on the freezer. Love your channel - Thanks!!!

Steaming would work just fine. However you can do it.

My dehydrator has raised edges that are like 4-3” squares. Can you cut silicon sheets to fit. If not do you have suggestions. Other then a new dehydrator. 😅
