I think the fact that Shraddha character was the daughter of Stree was made up for this movie. Because in first part she was supposed to be a mysterious woman who may/maynot be a ghost. Since the Stree was successful movie and they had to make sequel of it they add the mother daughter part. But it feels disjointed. Still love the movie and your review.

Even the opening scene of stree2 also showed that she didn't enter the city after seeing her statue in her respect.she always wanted love and respect from the people of that city.by the way great video.

I didn't like Stree 2. I felt the absence of Raj & DK in the screenplay and story. Amar Kaushik may have made a commercial blockbuster but in many ways the 2nd outing was very cliched in every aspect. And another reason I didn't like it is because it didn't deal with the story of STREE honestly. We see STREE for 10 mins max and the flashback is verbal and not shown. None of the nuances in STREE 1 were explained in the sequel. It is so CGI heavy, to cover up for the lack of a good story. But, I guess box office success is everything . I am wrong maybe.

Also, would like to point out that Shraddha's character mentions at one point that Stree is not aware that she is her daughter, but how come she arrived when Shraddha yelled her as mother.

The emotional state of Stree is very different in part 1 and 2. You see, in the first part, she was just a vengeful spirit who was still angry ages after such cruelty was subjected to her by the city. By the end of Stree 1, after being rendered powerless due to her trimmed braid, only to helplessly return a year later and see a statue, bestowed in her honor by the residents, she finally felt her unfinished business of finding long due love and respect by that town fulfilled, hence she could finally pass over. So not only she got ridden away from her malicious powers which were aggravating her negative emotions to overshadow the remnants of her humanity, but also managed to completely rise above her trauma, which means she finally got promoted to a peaceful afterlife, that must have only helped to put her senses, once dictated by only pain and rage, to ease even further. *I highlighted all that* _because it would come back to play a key role to realize why she was able to recognize her daughter in the sequel but was ready to strangle her to death a movie earlier._ It is due to the events leading to her salvation and the aftereffects of salvation itself, her mind became calm and clear unlike before, to perceive things for what they are despite unfamiliar avatars such as Shraddha's grown up appearance. Secondly, Shraddha calling her Maa wasn't perhaps a deliberate act, she was seconds away from dying by the hands of the same man who destroyed her family, so instinctively she cried for her mother in her seemingly last moment. Stree, now finally composed enough to be intuitive and see beyond only hatred, remembers the innocently familial familiarity in that voice reaching out for her, so she reached back. Besides it has been a while since she heard the word "maa" so, she came, hoping for her daughter. Then she snapped back to her revengeful phantom era upon seeing her legacy being compromised. Here, her own blood calling her with all her might due to being threatened by their actual perpetrator/ oldest nemesis was enough sign for Stree to revert to her given up state. [Shraddha never tried this before especially in the first movie because she didn't think it would work and it most probably wouldn't have either, given the spiritual evolution Stree had to first go through to respond favorably to that summoning scream.] This is why, coming to her rescue, then successfully saving her along with this realization, enabling their reunion as sweet also allowed her to listen to her daughter and go back to her blissful realm as a healed soul again, without a struggle. I initially thought this was a loophole fixed by a lousy retcon too but it slowly made sense. Phew! This was long but I hope this explanation helps because a lot of people are confused just like I was, in fact the actor, Flora Saini, who played Stree in the first movie found this twist to be absolutely absurd meanwhile I was like "I related with you, lady... till a few moments ago, before I had this solid interpretation lol."

Movie was good by Indian standards, I appreciate the attempt. But if you watch movies from all over the world then you might find it a bit slow. But a good movie nevertheless. 😊And that bid with shaved headed women is actually depicting them as widows which is to humiliate them. True .. aur koi film takkar mein thi hi nahi. I liked how this is a true sequel, helping in world building.. fun wise not so much but an OK OK plot. 2 things were very predictable though... when Janardan kicks the bucket, you know it won't be permanent as the film is about camaraderie because you do believe that these people might have grown up together and 2... film is based off Stree , there are a few lingering seconds at mural of her daughter on the cave wall... guess who will be Deus Ex Machina and why - when all hope is lost. The happiest part for me though... the song "Aayi Nahi".. blending fun visuals, dance sequence, beautiful 'stree' , meaningful satirical lyrics (aise ladke jo kheto me bulaate hain, beti bante kabhi bhi wo jamaai nahi)... and electro Bhojpuri genre via Pawan Singh.

Bhediya or Bhaskar could enter because he is a werewolf, so half human and half animal and werewolf posses the DNA of the person which bit them and turned them into werewolf, and in Bhaskar's case, it was Anika, she is a female , so he is half male and half female also. BTW did you notice the scene when Jana meets Vicky and Bittu, in one scene which was also in bhediya Vicky has beard and then in next he doesn't :) short story :) I dreamt about Akshay's cameo in Stree 2 in the night of 14th August, as Akshay's khel khel me and stree 2 were releasing on the same day

I agree it wasn't the best movie of all time but neither were Pathaan, Animal, Kabir Singh, or Kalki. I am just glad we are at least watching and appreciating movies with a deeper message now instead of just dishoom dishoom and A-list star casts. As always love your dishonest reviews though!

QT please a review on Khel Khel Mein. I loved that film. Stree 2 and Khel came at the same time but I think Stree 2 got overhyped and therefore Khel Khel Mein didn't got the audience it actually deserved. The story and fun was nice in Khel Khel Mein.

Valid point you make. But you need to recognize the fact that comedy is about exaggeration. If I'm pointing out similarities between ST and Stree, it doesn't necessarily imply that the entire movie is a copy of ST. I would be the first one to call it out in that case. Biased hona acha baat hai, main bhi hu, I do want Stree universe to be something we are extremely proud of, just like you do. Makes sense? 😊
