As a single mother my sister would stock up every year when she received her tax return. It helped them to be set all year for basics. Always seems like a lot of money but it actually saved her money. She got food, toiletries, school supplies and OTC medications. She didn't blow the money TV's and such. Throughout the year she had extra money for her and the girls to do fun things and get extra goodies because she stocked up. Always admired her for taking such good care of her and the girls.

This year I used my tax return to pay my rent for the year, my consumer cellular phone line and internet and HSLDA membership. Other than that, none of my other bills can be paid in advance. I hate owing money (borrower is slave to the lender after all) but thankfully, those are minimal :)

I grew up in Northern Ireland during the times known as “The Troubles “ and because we never knew when shops were going to be bombed or we couldn’t get into town because of barricades etc I started stocking up whenever possible. Fast forward to today and we immigrated to Canada but I still have the mind set to stock up the pantry as much as possible. It gives me a feeling of security that I can feed myself and my family. It is my dream to have a pantry like yours one day. Much love to you and your family ❤️

@@No-sv6mu Im sorry that I gave you the impression that I thought you thought she was panick buying. Thats not what I was inferring. I just meant limits were given because some people like to make sure they get everything & dont care if anyone else gets anything. Buying over said limits from the past is not abad thing. In the UK it was toilet rolls & cleaning products & hand sanitizer during lockdown lol!! Even the wet loo roll. Anyway no offence intended. Have a lovely day!!

I've been getting one container of wipes about every two weeks at Wal-Mart. They only have a few on the shelves though. I go right when they open when they are putting out stock. And before it gets too crowded. East Tennessee here.

I’m new to your channel. I’m just amazed you were able to get all that meat. Here in Georgia where I live they are restricting us to 1 package of meat or chicken. Just wow. It’s so hard now trying to stock up and I don’t want to risk going to the store everyday with 2 little ones.

Amy J Browne I'm in Atlanta, and didn't know they were rationing. Probably because I'm single, and don't buy a lot anyway since it's just for me. It's almost like they don't want us to be prepared!

rockstar nurse buy what you eat. I watch a lot of videos but most of what people buy we don’t eat or can’t eat it. We are dairy free and don’t eat beef. So my focus is actually buying food we’ll eat. Just buy a few things here and there. It’ll build up over time. If you make a list of what you eat regularly monitor that for a month. You’ll be able to gauge how much you need for 3 months+ hope that helps. 👍🏾

Can you start small? I had to start small because of finances, so when I shopped if there was 1 or 2 things on special that I know I use then I would just stock up on that.

How do you decide "what to get" and "how much to get of each item?" Also..."where" and "how" do you store all of this??? 🤔 Trying to learn as much as I can. Thank you.

Lorenia Johnson a great place to start is create a month meal plan and then just times it by 12. For example, if you have taco night once a month, write down all the ingredients you need for tacos, Mexican rice and refried beans on a 3*5 card and times it by 12. Then as you put those items in your pantry and freezer I use high liter to cross them off. Then what ever is left on your card turns into your weekly shopping list....mainly fresh produce. It also helps you decide how much to grow in your garden of anyone thing. Once you get your meal plan down, your life gets so much easier!!!! Hope that helps Shelby
