I hate how some guys are only interested in making “friends” with girls they’re attracted to. It made me realize that it’s why they get mad when they find out that the girl is already in a relationship or when she rejects him. Some of us like making friends with people regardless of gender or attractiveness. I like having guy friends but knowing this has made me side eye every guy that’s friendly to me and it freaking sucks.

Nope, he would of at most been given a 10% reduction (if they only told the tutor the day it's due) but if told the tutor early, he would of just been told to do it alone and/or the tutor would of just said for everyone to 'get along', he'd need to do his part but would defo deliberately fuck it up so they'd have to rewrite the night before. Source: I had a guy submit his part of the report straight from a website, copied and pasted, he didn't even bother to take out the hyperlinks. But, because he'd submitted it the night before, the tutor dgaf and just reduced his mark by 10% (and we all got 70% odd, so he still did well). Everyone was livid but I was the most outgoing (I'm not even that outgoing) so I initiated the talk with him about it before class. He said he had to go to a Jewish gettogether and didn't have time. This other chick who was very competent and me had to stay up till 4-5m doing his part. But yeah, uni's don't care. The whole business model is 'make as many people pass so we get tons of $$ money', hence group projects to even out the scores (HD students get with Pass students and it's all even, I hate them with a passion, there wasn't a single group project I didn't end up rewriting someone's entire part because they dgaf to do it right and knew they could get away with me cause I was too nice and my English is excellent, also int'l students whose English was appalling made my life hell).

Movies told them so. Pick virtually any "romantic" movie and you will see this trope over, and over, and over again. Boy gets rejected by girl, at times repeatedly, but he does not give up. He invites her on dates, she turns him down, at times repeatedly. Until something happens and she accepts. And after much tribulation, in the end they are Happy Ever After. And this basic scenario I've set up is the bare bones, at times it gets so intensely awful that it is nothing short of abusive. There is this movie, I forgot the title, in which the boy and the girl are on the Ferris Wheel when he up and gets out the car and dangles from a bar until she accepts to date him. If she does not say "yes", he'll plummet to his death. So of course she says "yes". This is played as romantic. It is horrifyingly awful. It's not just American media that does this either. I gave up on romantic K-drama partially because it was way too het for my tastes (with the occasional queer baiting) but mostly because time and time again, you'd see this along with arguments between two boys, fighting over the girl...who is standing right there, like the prize to be won. Constant bickering is so common for the "meant to be" couple that you can tell right away who will end up with the girl by how much they argue throughout most of the series. Girl gets along with a guy, has long conversations with him, is obviously at ease with him and feels very comfortable around him? Too bad, that guy does not stand a chance in the narrative's logic. Girl meets guy who is usually much more richer and/or popular and does nothing but upset her, scream at her, and on occasion pull her arm and forcibly hug her as she is trying to walk away from him? It is fate, they are meant to be.
@FIRXFLY
@FIRXFLY Жыл бұрын
@@Nocturnalux true. Most romantic movies have a really messed up view of romance. I think i know the Ferris wheel movie you're talking about, I've seen some video essayist mention it while talking about the same point. I grew up watching Bollywood and it just shows romance as abuse and stalking. I remember this movie 'Kabir Singh' that came out when i was in high school that romanticized a guy who slapped the girl and all my classmates, girls and boys, admired that character. I never looked at my classmates the same ever again. I've noticed similar things in Hollywood movies myself and even with my limited knowledge in kdramas i can see what you're talking about. I stay far away from any romanctic movies now unless they're queer because that has a lot less chance of being straight up abusive. i feel like I'm jinxing it by saying it out loud and now a big production company is gonna make a terrible queer romance movie. Let's hope that never happens

@@FIRXFLY Wow, that Bollywood movie sounds absolutely awful. A “romantic” movie in which a guy slaps a girl is…something else, it really is. I told him I had a boyfriend after he invited me out, and he litterally said "well, bring him along." Yeah sure, I'll go tell my bf that the delivery guy wants to drink with us and it's totally not to get in my pants 😂Then again, maybe I misunderstood, maybe he wants to snatch my bf... Jokes aside, it was a bit scary to know he had my address and could, if he wanted, show up randomly. He also once asked me to get in his truck while he finished his deliveries so we could chat. LOL How can some men not realize how creepy their behaviour is, I'm not gettting in a stranger's car wtf.

Speaking as an autistic person, and at the risk of making myself sound like one of these people (despite actively trying to call them out in saying this) they often give people like me, who struggle with social interaction a bad wrap. I’ve had many situations where I would try to talk to a woman and come across as weird or creepy, due to the difficulty I have with how I invest myself in conversations. And there was a point where I realized this, and would start asking people I made uncomfortable how I could improve my approach, assuming it to be in a pragmatic route towards self improvement, only to be called a “nice guy” or “Incel” because of the robotic, and socially disconnected approach I was taking. Unfortunately, I have a hard time finding that balance of interaction that is comfortable and normal for people. And this is just in trying to be friendly, or have idle conversations. It’s genuinely distressing to me, especially as someone who isn’t like… even really invested in romantic or sexual relationships at all, that there are these dudes who just… harass women in these horrid ways to the point that said women have to be cautious even of a bumbling doofus like me. Like… seriously, women are just normal human beings. And are cool. And I like having the ability to hang out with them and have fun with them, without needing them to be in a relationship with me and only me. And I promise you, random incel/nice guy that may be reading this, you are not god’s gift upon this earth. You are in fact a weird creep, and you don’t have to keep being a weird creep. You can like… just try to improve yourself. And stop worrying so much about your own value being tied to crap like marriage or having kids. But not in a weird creepy way… but like, just enjoy your life, and like… other people will be able to enjoy life with you as a result. But first you have to STOP being like this! Like quit trying to pester women into dating you or sleeping with you! Quit harassing gay women because they aren’t attracted to men! Like, stop being a dipshit!

As someone who is also on the spectrum, I get what you mean. (this was before I was diagnosed)
@skyeguy7914
@skyeguy7914 Жыл бұрын
@@nimhfinitepossibilities7609 yeah, it comes with its own list of problems. I’m not quite so familiar with how the spectrum affects girls. Er, provided you preferred to be seen as a girl of course, given you said “female presenting.” I can only really speak to my own experiences. But this is a very real observation I’ve had. Is that the already socially awkward experiences of us Neurodivergent folks, at least the ones that appear and/or present as men, get way more complicated when associating with women especially. In fact, I honestly think a lot of the people that fall into incel and nice guy circles are actually on the spectrum too. The troubling part of the circles and ideologies they often follow (such as the manosphere) heavily prey upon gullible and impressionable types like us. And because of that, I think unfortunately there is a lot of social behavior overlap that women end up seeing in that regard. Maybe there are studies about it somewhere at this point? I think it would be worth looking into.

@@skyeguy7914 I always go better with voice chat in general, except if it's a professional, those make me uncomfortable. I am also on the spectrum, female presenting (just so you don't worry, I don't identify as a woman, but it's fine for me if you use girl or female). Conversations are so hard, lol. In writing, I always double check myself because I get so worried that I come across as mean or nasty. Just last week, I had to try and explain to a pretty new friend that I wasn't meaning to insult her drawing, I just had an issue with the hair looking like a cutout (think and anime OC, but the haircut is just white, the colour of paper white). I find that either saying the sentence out loud or rereading the sentence a few times and image if someone send it to me, although that one can be hard :) I also am not really interested in romance or relationships and I usually open with that (I am ace, so I usually bring it up when I introduce myself, as well as mentioning I'm autistic). I kind of flirt with my friends (nick names and such), so that's my quota for that kind of behaviour, lol. I find that just opening up with being autistic in the beginning of the conversation, especially if you think you are going to continue to interact with the other person, clears up some confusion. Sorry if I come across as rambling :)

So… if age is just a number, why does that old dude prefer younger women? Weird how that number saying only works in one direction. And the last dude made me so mad. I think if anyone ever harassed me like that I’d end up beating him up to make him stop. I’d gladly go to jail for it as long as he learns his lesson. But let’s be real, he probably won’t. When I was younger I had to spend the night at train stations a few times cause there were no connections until the morning. Sometimes some creepy dude would just start following me and try to convince me to get to know him, have a coffee with him and give him a chance cause he’s such a nice guy. I tried everything. Said no politely. Said no impolitely and loudly. Said I had a boyfriend (a lie). Ignored him. Nothing helped. In the end I went with ignoring him, I just sat down and he sat next to me begging for hours. I slapped his hand away a few times when he tried to touch me. I was young and stupid back then, today I probably would’ve pushed him down some stairs or something. Damn, I’m so mad now 🤣

Same. So far the closest to that scenario I got was basically Me and that guy I met that very day were talking to each other. An older woman (probably in her 40s) coming to us and basically making undertones that that guy and I were either dating or interested in each other. I completly ignored that undertone and tried to tell myself I was probably/hopefully just imagining things. Then the woman left, to talk with some others. The guy I was talking to: She probably things we are dating now Me: Welp, sorry but not gonna happen. I'm aroace. *Waits a moment, basically realises no one I know besides my best friend has ever even heard of that* Wait, do you know what that is? Guy: Yeah, I have a (female, our language is very gendered) friend who is too 10/10 interaction, we continued talking about lots of stuff the rest of the party and even exchanged numbers

The text regarding the dude demanding others to do his share of the group project after being REJECTED BY A LESBIAN, and him dropping all these red flags that makes Soviet Russia blush, like, to claim no woman biologically can be in love with women and then accuse her of having a mental illness (because nothing in life is ever gay, it's all mental illnesses /s). Just, bleh, vomit if you may. The fact that he didn't get the memo and continued being weird to a lesbian, thinking women only pretend to be gay to avoid creeps (which is not true, since obviously he's a creep) and then calling her a whore for rejecting him. and cis men wonder why women are afraid of them.

Guys will say that calling yourself a lesbian is a way to ward off creeps with their full chest as if it doesn't attract them and they aren't the creeps in question. Baffling.

Thank you for saying that! As someone who also has borderline personality disorder, I really relate. Like sometimes I just don’t have the mental or emotional ability to deal with things in that moment, aside from just feeling like I do not have the energy sometimes, but I can go for hours or days without responding to my messages. If a guy wanted to act like this he can totally get the rage lol

Recently a Nice guy told me "Imagine if a guy said stuff like this, just reverse the gender roles. Imagine a guy saying "You know, I can beat you to near death" when talking about a woman" He said that because she was talking about r4pist who don't end in jail, the subject didn't Even was about getting physical nor the girl was threatening but he found a way to justify physical abuse

(and circus is my favourite song ever made, but this is the korean version and doesn’t count) this did not answer your questions.

I was once in circles where it was acceptable but not exactly as roleplay, more like a very long emoji. Like *rolling eyes*, *hitting a desk with their head. Repeatedly.* or stuff like *backing off slowly...* after you say something controversial. Not the weird "cute" anime 14yo cat girl behaviour. It was much less creepy, usually funny or useful in communication.

@@tymondabrowski12 I mean I do this ironically like sometimes I’ll just reply “[sweats nervously]” if I’m about to get exposed over something stupid in a group chat, it’s different if it’s an inside joke, but the incel weebs doing it unironically is what makes me die of cringe every time 😭😭😭
