=Interesting trivia:= The great jazz drummer Tony Williams used to teach this same concept to drummers, when I was in his group classes back in the early ‘90s. As one drumstick goes down, the other goes up - as if they’re part of the same machine, or two pedals on a bicycle. And yes, as you already discovered ... this concept works. :)

That's such a nice anecdote! I 'discovered' this trick myself a while ago but as soon as I did j thought: "someone must have known this. Probably many people." I just hadn't heard anyone talk about it before :-) Tony Williams... wow. Very nice!

Nice vid! Thanks so much. Just wondered if you had any tips for playing fast repeated notes with one finger on one hand? Obviously it is preferable/ easier to alternate hands but there are some situations where I need the other hand for other parts of the beat and it's hard to keep the wrist relaxed (which from playing my piano technique I always try to achieve!)

Moeller technique! It's not easy to learn (I teach it on the advanced techniques course on my website) but you can google it and see drummers do it in action. That will double your speed and keep you relaxed.
