Critical Thinking is borderline impossible to teach, yet it is perhaps the most potent cure to human suffering outside of direct spiritual experiences. Very good subject for a video essay, I'm impressed.

I truly enjoyed this one. It brought me back to the first question I asked myself in order to find out the truth. “I how do I know that what I know is the truth “? That datacamp sounds like a good tool to use to sharpen my critical thinking. Might have to try it.

I’ve heard it said that language was created in order to lie. And the druids of old say that we were able to read each other and understand each other before spoken language, and even communicate with each other across vast distances.

9:00 little vocabulary tip, the better word to use there would probably be ingrain rather than entrance. Entrance has a meaning closer to “hypnotize” or to fool the mind, whereas ingrain is to repeatedly use until it is second nature. It’s cool to see someone with English as a second language speaking so fluently, but since you preach the gospel of always learning more, I thought I would drop that little vocab lesson for you :)
@metamorphosis_772 жыл бұрын
It's entrench not entrance. But yeah ingrain is also great.

Another great video, you make it look easy! Alain de button, oui. Sam Harris, non. I would challenge your statement “truth is logic.” Not always. I got a lot of truth on certain “journeys” but they were far from logical...

Great Video ! Could you do one on explaining How (responsibility ownership authority) are interconnected? That you cannot have one without the others? That the Self-Governing individual person who has their overall goal to be "Living a happy life while allowing all others to do the same" will already obey just laws and fight unjust laws according to that goal? That blaming others is actually an act of abdicating a portion of individual responsibility in which that individual feels like a victim, prisoner, and slave to those they have blamed? That to be truly free one must take on all the responsibilities that promote them having a happy life through creating their own conscious joys? Thank you either way :)

Spoken like a single man 😄 Isn't it interesting that most of the great minds of the past where or are at least presumed to be single? Of course this is in jest for you to injest and possibly contemplate further. 😉Thank you for the video

Excellent. I have not come across “argument, frame and eloquence” before. At first glance, I wondered if you would draw a connection to Logos, Pathos and Ethos. I found a couple of online essays but they are hardly explicit about your outline.

Great information and editing. 👍 If one applies critical thinking one could question the ‘truth is logic’ statement. What is truth? If justified deductive reasoning is to be applied, one will eventually reach the issue of axiom justification. Thus, ‘truth is logic’ could be refuted with logic. Given refutation could be reached by application of logic, truth is most likely not logic. As an example, 2+2 most likely cannot be justified to be 4, without the application of axioms. Application of unjustified axioms is most likely not logic. Therefore, truth most likely is distinct from logic. Would the above be satisfactory for your argument winning equation? Or do I lack framing and eloquence? Thank you for the content, due to the aiding of cognitive engagement.

You got me here. That was my personal commentary, so to speak, to emphasize the importance of logic in the pursuit of truth. I do such things sometimes in my videos, just to see who is going to notice.

2:25 If I'm going to be pedantic, this syllogism is invalid. P1: Bachelors are unmarried men You should say they are defined as such so that all unmarried men are bachelors. All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. You must state it goes both ways. P2: Bill is unmarried You should state Bill is an unmarried *man* as they could just be a women with an unconventional name.

Big bang theory hosabout ex nihilo nihil fit nothing comes out from nothing , so logic dictates something/someone i.e. God was always existing prior to the cosmos/universe/time/matter. That doses not conflicts with logic.
