I really loved how Konami would nopt only make great arcade games (and creative ones too, I mean, who'd thought The Simpsons and Asterix would make such amazing beat 'em ups), but would go the extra mile to add something new to home ports (if mostly to excuse the lesser quality), like bonus levels and bosses in the TMNT beat 'em ups.

@thehb2k I don't know about that. KONAMI's arcade games were no where near top 3 in the 80's or 90's. TAITO and DATA EAST were far above KONAMI who were home console first, arcade second. They made far better console games. They were the absolute KING of the Super Famicom! Their arcade hardware was always lackluster when compared to SEGA and CAPCOM who were No.1 and No.2 respectively in the 80's and 90's. Just compare Crime Fighters to Final Fight or Golden Axe, they were released the same year! Even the far more impressive TMNT from '89 was far simpler graphically than anything SEGA or CAPCOM put out. It was not until Violent Storm that KONAMI finally had a beat em up to compare with CPS1/2/SYSTEM-16/18. SYSTEM-32 still blew it (and the CPS-2 for that matter) away though. No doubt they made some CLASSICS and much improved games and hardware in the 90's, but if not for their US licensing, their arcade game classics would be far fewer. I do, however, consider Violent Storm one of THE greatest beat em ups of all time. Why the hell there was no Saturn and PS1 port, I will never know. I still miss the KONAMI that made amazing SFC, MEGA-DRIVE, PC Engine, Saturn and PS1 games though. PS2 KONAMI already showed signs of their lost magic...

I tried to get every Konami game (silver cartridge) I could find. Maybe other than The Adventures of Bayou Billy, they didn’t make a flop, and you can even enjoy parts of it. If you were good enough to make it into later levels if the game, there are some awesome graphics and fun game play. On the NES had no competition, I secretly always wanted to see their version of a baseball and football game. I wonder what we would have ended up with, because Blades of Steel and Double Dribble can still be enjoyed today, depending on what you’re looking to experience and enjoy. The first time my guy threw his gloves down and their was a whole separate game with a fight meter for health I was blown away!!!! Konami was so far ahead of the others. Some of their NES games graphically are superior to many SNES games, that’s how well they utilized what that had to work with as far as bits and memory and sprites etc. For those who aren’t old enough, during this time period circa 1988, you could only go by the art work on the box, or pick games because of the silver box. To this day it’s the only Games I bought strictly because of the company making the games, before and after I have never truly considered buying a game because of the company that produced it. Good luck and best wishes to anyone looking to go back and enjoy these gems for the first time. Castlevania Symphony of the Night on the PS1 is a descendant of these early Castlevanias and in my opinion one of the top 25 games ever made!!!!
