You have to Wonder 🤔 if it was a Hot Box or something else ? ALL Railfans know Not to BBQ close to the train tracks. 😬👍

Yes I keep the grill at least 10 feet from the tracks 😂

I've seen this happen before usually from a hot box, bearing or from sparks when the brakes are applied, nice video!🛤🚂

It was a very hot day when I filmed this video it was over 90 so that probably didn’t help.

I'm guessing that he couldn't go through because of the potential fire???
@therailroadtiespiker19 күн бұрын
He was working the yard and the fire was on the main just outside of the yard. He took the train up to the fire to put it out.

Ummm, I thought engines had 6 axles these guys only have 4 what's up with that? Forgive my ignorance
@therailroadtiespiker19 күн бұрын
These are locomotives that were built for local and yard work.
@MrEngineman6919 күн бұрын
They are light weights,limited to yard ,and local industry deliveries.Now we use the wide bodies for road use

4 Axel engines are known as GP 's general purpose engine . the six axel engines are known as Sd's and are used as has been described . reckon what started the fire ? Exhaust spark or a wheel slip causing sparks ? I never noticed either. He might have thought if it made it to that pile of used ties then he had one hot fire ?
