Hello everyone! You can find a link to the logs for the encounter here if you would like: classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/bPTnRFJzZDhMWgx3#fight=27&type=damage-done I play far from perfectly in this recording as it was my first time seeing these bosses firsthand in a very very long time, but feel free to let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!

Which addons are you using for the raid mechanics: "watch your feet"?
@SigsPlays8 ай бұрын
@@krisberiault6964 It's called Deadly Boss Mods (DBM)! You can find a download link here if you'd like: www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/deadly-boss-mods You will also need the Cataclysm Raid Boss Module, which you can find here: www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/deadly-boss-mods-cataclysm-mods =)

you can boost your dmg on this fight massive if u dot up the other drake in the air
@SigsPlays5 ай бұрын
Yup! This was the first time that we defeated it so I didn't realize it then, but I've been doing that the last few times that we've done this boss. Great tip, thanks for pointing that out!

When you have a pyro proc do you use combustion before it lands or not?
@SigsPlays6 ай бұрын
I always wait for it to land to ensure that the Pyro DoT debuff is applied, and to see if it crits for a bigger Ignite

How were you able to keep such high dps? In week one of tier? Were you full pre-bis loaded with crit? I can barely crit for the life of me and can only usually pull like 14k in 350 gear but I just started mage
@SigsPlays7 ай бұрын
I was mostly pre-bis - just missing the 359 neck, any archaeology stuff, and some better itemized 346s (you can see my gear here: classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/bPTnRFJzZDhMWgx3#fight=27&type=summary&source=2). I was actually stacking way more Haste than I should have and have switched to stacking more Crit since then. Fire Mage is just really RNG heavy, so if you get lucky with Crits (especially on pull) then you'll do a lot of damage, and if you don't, you won't. It definitely varies from pull to pull, which can be be exciting, but also very annoying. It gets a lot more consistent with better gear (and more crit) though. Beyond that just sticking to the rotation, using cooldowns at the right time, any trying to optimize your Combustion window is about all you can do. Also remember to ABC (Always Be Casting) by using Scorch or Fire Blast while moving, and try to limit movement as much as possible by pre-positioning or using Blink so that you can spend most of your time hard-casting Fireball to fish for Hot Streaks. I wish that I had some more easy answers but it really just comes down to practice and a bit of good luck most of the time

Which addons are you using ?
@SigsPlays8 ай бұрын
So the main addons that I'm using are: Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) (Shows timers for Boss mechanics and plays audio warnings) - You will need both the base Addon as well as the Cataclym Mod: Main Addon: www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/deadly-boss-mods-dbm-dungeons Cata Mod: www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/deadly-boss-mods-cataclysm-mods Details! Damage Meter (My main damage meter): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/details Method Raid Tools (The Cooldown tracking on the top left, as well as other features): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/method-raid-tools MoveAny (Lets you move just about anything on your UI): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/moveany Nova Raid Companion (Additional Tracking for Healer Mana, Brezes, etc.): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/nova-raid-companion OmniCC (Shows remaining cooldown for spells on the Action Bars): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/omni-cc Quartz (My Main Cast Bar): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/quartz Recount (The Realtime DPS Graph - you can right click anything [DPS, HPS, Damage Taken, etc.] on the meter and then click "Show Realtime Graph". I find this useful for figuring out a good rotation, but Details is a more accurate meter for overall tracking) : www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/recount Titan Panel (The info panel at the very top of the screen): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/titan-panel Weakauras (Most of the other cooldown tracking): www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/weakauras-2 And the Weakauras that I'm using are: Luxthos Fire Mage Suite: wago.io/LuxthosMageCata Interrupt Tracker: wago.io/rkr8FIuDX Fire Mage Combust Helper: wago.io/PxSwZ2JUR/55 Hot Steak / Impact Alert (You will have to follow the instructions on the wago page to install the custom graphics for this one to work): wago.io/7EJeIbAXx Cata Ignite Predictor: wago.io/BQbLNlIWo In case you (or anyone else reading this) isn't familiar with the Weakauras addon, I'll post my FAQ blurb for it here too: The Addon is called Weakauras, you can find a download link here on Curseforge if you'd like: www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/weakauras-2 After installing the Addon go to the Wago link for the Weakaura above, click "Copy Import String" in the red oval near the top of the page, then type "/wa" (without the quotes) in-game and press enter. Then click Import near the top of the Weakauras settings window that should appear, then simply press ctrl + v and then click the red "Import" button down at the bottom. After that you should see the weakaura and you can also adjust the size and position of the graphic from the Weakauras settings menu if you'd like. I hope that helps! =)

@@SigsPlaysWhat’s the point of the ignite predictor wa? Doesn’t CombustionHelper already do the same thing?
@kallew347 ай бұрын
@@SigsPlays thanks for taking the time to write it all up and provide links, much appreciated you earned yourself a sub :)
@SigsPlays7 ай бұрын
@@BranoneMCSG It does, I just personally find it easier to see the red bar in certain situations (like when tab targeting to find an Ignite to spread during AoE pulls) so I use both, although it is redundant to have the same information in 2 places
