Only one brief showing of James Calvin Wilsey on bass. He's the only one in this band that went on to some fame as guitarist for Chris Issac and player on the iconic song Wicked Game. I just got a copy of his biography and wanted to check out the Avengers.

I saw Wilsey do a show about 15 years ago. It was great seeing him play "Wicked Game" in person. It's almost hard to believe that that teenage bassist in The Avengers became Isaac's guitarist and wrote that song. He's talented but just saying. I may be wrong but I heard he left Isaac because they had a falling out. His guitarist Hershel is really good too.

Discovered that in 1979, and had major celebrity crush on Penelope Houston. Their 4 song EP produced by Steve Jones was my introduction and it kicked ass.

I may wrong but I don't think The Avengers actually met The Sex Pistols even though they opened for them. Steve Jones did produce some songs for them but I don't think The Sex Pistols and The Avengers actually talk or met.

Stay Right and Republican Rock 'n' Roll. Rock 'n' Roll is Elvis, not punk, metal, or hardcore. All that stuff is over. What outlasted it all is Rock 'n' Roll. It was made by Republicans for Conservative youth looking to rebel, not dirty, dirty, punks and hateful people. Warning: This is not really serious. It is sarcastic comedy. Note: I don't know. Maybe Avengers are just sarcastic Liberals. I am. I've never been seriously racist, Right Wing, or Nazi. It just isn't "punk."

Real Rock 'n' Roll is Anarchy, not Conservative, Socialist, or Communist. I was just joking, partly. It is Punk, Metal, and Oi! that used POSEUR sensibilities to make music seem political, racial, and religious.
