Instead of sorting this out properly at the time, she was free to marry, have children, build a life. The message: crime pays and the rich really are different. I would have given her more time for damage to former Thernos employees as well. Imagine that being your first job and you had nothing to do with her product development or testing and your only job listed is working for Theranos, it's hard enough just to get a job but when have that on resume, I am quite certain people would think twice about hiring you (just guilt by association, permanently on your resume).

She deserved a sentence, longer than 18 months, yet 11 years seems intense, considering all the assets she lost, I mean she lost everything, billions of dollar that could balance the damaged done; I suspect there will be an appeal process - that will take into account case law, likely comparing crime from similar sentences that we were much more severe and also consider the damages she faces and that Shes from an environment where she will not be needy...I suspect she will be released significantly sooner than 11 years, and this is the next stage of her case the appellant process! However, Elizabeth really need to consider what she did, people place faith in her at a level which undermined people health dramatically - in this regard some might say 11 years wasn't enough; I don't think she understood the nature of her crime..!5 years is a good recommendation; 18 month is ridiculous request, this case went beyond fraud, people health was damaged or at risk due to prolonged natures of her fraud. Yet, the rich cant keep committing crimes and not face justice - you cant let yourself feel subjective sympathy just because she is a mother, or a female, or a pretty blonde; in this case 11 year may well be justice...unless there's a point of mitigation, yet most appeals will ask why didn't your say this in the main trial? I think Elizabeth, needs to ensure she sent toa good prison, because she need to show change and remorse, she may not be killer, but her case seem questionable about board regulating her product worked and so on..she couldn't have made that much monetary support alone..
