India's affairs those days were different brother. North and south were not treated equal, and south languages were not given importance, instead only Hindi was instilled across country. Also, do you know the attrocitied of Brahmins in 1900's and their oppression towards untouchables and other castes, oppression against women in their own community, owning hindusim and learning veds'a are only brahmins rights, being a priest in a temple is only a brahmin right, lower caste were not allowed to enter inside temple, they were not allowed to wear slippers, lower caste should hold their head low when walking in streets, they cannot enter streets where brahmins live. These were just a jist of few of the probelms that were impacting livelihood of other fellow men. I'm a brahmin myself and can strongly support periyar for this activist movements for women and anti-brahmin. Though some of this polictical ideologies were hazy, he was 60% right and 40% wrong. But he was a strong influence in TN and founding fathers for a dravidian movement.

A lot of misunderstanding is going on interpreting difference between Varna, Jati and Caste. Gita chapter 18.41 defines clearly the varna is based on once Actions and not by birth. So 63 Siva Acharyas called Nayanmars are from all Varnas. Kannappa Nayanar was Scheduled tribe who offered his eyes to Sivalinga and his temple is at Kalahasti. So Varna defines once action based life and if your actions are to reach Moksha then you are the innermost circle of life which is Brahmin. Next concentric circle is Kshathriya,Vysya and Sudra. Later the British guy William Jones made it as Pyramidal model class system by putting Brahmin on top of pyramid and Sudra at bottom of it. How he came to this conclusion only God knows. Do you see the problem here. If you know what is Sruti and Smiruthi then you can have crystal clear understanding of all these issues. The difference between Manu Smiruthi and Ambedkar Smiruthi which is current constitution based on.I I urge Hindus to read what is called Sruti and Smiruthi. If you dont know check complete works of Swami Vivekananda and Rajiv Malhotras work.

He is simply exaggerating things, these 2 parties deviated from periyar ideology. 1 party is running for supporting one of the families livelyhood, other party does not what they are for after Jayalalitha. Periyar name/photo has become a election stunt, when ever there is election they will bring his name. These 2 parties made people not to think anything apart from periyar and tamil language, have you ever seen any of these parties talking about bringing changing in people life style or providing basic amenities to people, they will never do that. That's how they made sure Vijaykanth ideology didnt get imparted to the people, he could have been a game changer for Tamilnadu, but they made people dont believe him and made him a comedy character using payed media channels. No revolutionary measure are taken up by recent leaders, Tamilnadu was industrial capital even before 30 years, credit needs to be given leaders like Kamaraj, subramanian bharathi etc, they tried to educate people what actually is required for their upbringing.
