There is so much to admire and read about Kali. She is everything a society doesn’t want a women to be. She is dark, she has open hair, she is fierce, controlling, liberated, wears tiger skin and skull, can take matters into her own hands. Even Shiva had to offer himself to calm her down. (Can there be a better example of feminism?) When britishers came to India, they were shocked seeing a women so contrary to any ideal women being worshiped. They had only worshipped figures like Mother Mary. And they started demonising Kali. And Kali worshippers were labelled uncultured. No wonder we were seeing Kali costumes in Halloween party. Unfortunately even our ancestors since 3-4 generations also don’t understand the essence of Kali. They are just afraid of her & don’t love her(or any women who carries traits of her).

U just putted it in words so well . I wanted to say the same but couldn't find the right word also I was also used to get scared as a teenage or child by ma kali but now am 26 year old female and in daily life with all the experience and stuff am understanding more why ma kali looks scary for some people coz they simply are not welcoming towards a women being fierce and independent , I hope more people will come to senses to understand that ma kali should be worshipped and we shouldn't get scared of

Wow. I always had Mahalaxmi's presence around and she channels alot through me. I was struggling initially to accept this as a part of my reality, now slowly as I have learnt to listen to her, today I happen to come across your video. I was born on 9th day midnight and on dawn of 10th ie Dasera. Kali is not Kalratri. KALI is Das Mahavidya and Kalratri is Nav Durga . Kalratri rides a donkey . Her hand gestures are also very different from Kali . Kalratri never stands on Shiva but Kali does .
