Bro musk lave is a fougere barbershop not a chipre check the description on the website I noticed you got them confused in the past as well
@TherapeuticFragrance4 жыл бұрын
I talked about this with others in the comments of Musk Lave. So what's your definition of Chypre? This meets all of it. Just because of lavender the perfume categorized as fougere which is technically correct, but this wears like a Chypre to me. Just so you get it and caused 8 other people to go down your path. Citrus, Labdanum, and Oakmoss are the real definition of a Chypre. This has all three. Not my fault the perfumer marketed this as a fougere.
@Hassan-dh6el4 жыл бұрын
@@TherapeuticFragrance fair enough you might feel it wears like a chipre for you however lavender citrus and Oak moss are staples of a fougere as well and because of those things I do except it as one My definition of a chipre on the other hand is one there is citrus on top florals and spices in the middle and resinous woods in the base I think this perfume is a little different to that Falls more into the fougere category However that’s the great thing about fragrances you can interpret them anywhere you want based on your own experiences so fair enough to you if you take it the other way as a chipre
@TherapeuticFragrance4 жыл бұрын
Great points. I have mentioned in comments before that if could go either way. The ultimate barbershop vibe really isn't there for me. No complaints I obviously think its stunning and a lot of perfumes that call themselves Chypre have no business being one. Historically it was defined by the original and should have those three ingredients. I just don't get the barbershop vibe on this that usually comes from an aroma chemical. Although Rising Mysore doesn't have it either it comes off like an indian barbershop to me built off the classic Mysore soap. Just observations. I really think no one is right or wrong calling this a fougere or Chypre. IMO it wears more like a Chypre and it does hold the classic ingredients of one.

For my 2020 it was purely vintage, my concept of perfumery has completely changed, that's where the real masterpieces are located. I like the new and the natural but in my opinion they are compositions that pale when you compare them to the masterpieces of yesteryear. There are good and rare materials but they are not in the hands of real masters in my opinion. Cheers Brandon!

Glad to own several of these. So many top of the line juices. I do disagree with santal galore (but you know that already) however especially with presentation I actually really dislike it I don't want that big piece of wood needlessly taking up a bunch of space lol but I'm alone thinking like that most likely. Very much prefer the presentation RA gave the other ALD bottles in the 6th collection. I personally think RA will come out with an even better sandalwood fragrance in the future. Really enjoyed the awards. Cheers to 2021 trying to keep up!
@TherapeuticFragrance4 жыл бұрын
Did you buy Santal Galore? Actually get to play with the box? And see how the sandalwood cap was? I don't actually store with the box it get's to go next to other ALD's with same shape and size. Which is why I like that bottle style so well. Unfortunately wood caps were complained about to much so we won't likely ever see them again in the main line. They way they hold the smell of the perfume is perfect. Anyways as always appreciate the thoughts. In talking with him and other perfumers what most people want in a sandalwood fragrance is just sandalwood. It's loses itself with almost any other material unless you start layering in the synthetic. (Talking to Le Labo Santal 33). This is the type of thinking that get's most of us into creating our own things. Sounds like your about ready to start buying material my friend. That's the next level in this game. Cheers to 2021 and seeing what you do.

Wow what a year and I cant believe it's already been 12 months since the 1st therapeutic awards. Some serious heavy hitters included. Last year's awards were good, but this year is on a different playing field. Elixir Attar, Areej resurgence, Di Ser, Pomares and Agar Aura are the winning houses for me. Eagerly awaiting for your Shalini review before I commit to that purchase though haha. Thanks for all your hard work over the past 12 months B 👍

I know that went fast LOL. Thanks for the comment. Trying to hurry on Shalini if you like dirty Jasmine this is it. Have not smelled anything better, must make sure you get it before reformulated as Jasmine was a key ingredient knocked by Ifra last year.

You actually pronounce ALD : Areej le "Doray" (because of the accent on the 'e' : é)

My favorite from this year is Santal Galore hands down. I love it more and more each time I wear it. My most worn on the year is probably a tie between Triad from Bortnikoff, or Kurokami from Di Ser (would have been Keman if I owned it). Natural roses are just SO wearable.
