I just blind bought this. On my skin, this is straight putrid. I love ouds and some animal scents but this smells like vintage cleaning products that shouldn’t be mixed together. Very fecal opening for the first hour and then bright florals that try to mask the civet. Very very repulsive to me. For reference, I love Amouage Opus XIII Silver Oud and Arabian Oud Royal Oud. I’m willing to part with my FB of this if anyone is interested. I’ve only done three sprays.

I'm glad I got a decant of this and didn't blind buy it like I almost did. I suppose my nose is broken because all I get out of this is a skin scent of powdery rose, with a slight smell of musk and oakmoss. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. 🤷🏽‍♂️ I have no idea what reviewers are talking about. I don't get anything animalic, ambery, or leathery from this fragrance. A lot of people are suggesting this smells like a couple having sex, and all I can think is that they must not have much sex 😆 because I don't get that vibe at all, and let's just say I'm not into vanilla-flavored sex. So what am I missing here, because it certainly isn't sex in a literal sense, maybe just the scent of what I would call the smell of sex.😏 Maybe this is just one of those that needs more heat to develope on me 🤷🏽‍♂️ and yes I've worn it on skin several times already.

It opens with powerful notes of the pier and harbor, with strong, scattered hints of fecal scents and a sandy undertone. Sometimes, it resembles a human odor; at other times, it feels like the scent of an animal’s fur marked by waste. For me, the real magic happens in the drydown. Forget Megamare, Black Sea, Acqua di Sale, or any other “marine” fragrance that portrays an idealized, artistic sea. This is the closest to the true smell of the ocean-not a fragrance-that I’ve ever encountered. It carries the aroma of brackish tides, of actual sand (not an impression created by myrtle), of seaweed, and of salty skin after a swim. A lingering fecal note and a touch of iodine give it the exact scent of floating marine debris. It smells like summer air over the ocean. No synthetic blend currently replicates these elements with such precision. As an oceanographer, I remain convinced that the only path to authentic marine scents lies in ambergris; anything else is just fantasy. Would I wear it? No. Would I buy it if I wanted the sea in a bottle, once and for all? Probably, yes

I’m a bit late in on this one, and I’m no expert, but all these three fragrances make me feel like I’m tripping balls for short moments, and I don’t get that from some artificial clone juice! I am absolutely obsessed with all three, and it doesn’t happen very often! Was it ever confirmed that it’s RA? It’s really like a mystery to dig into this story, and all I know is that this perfume series is the most indulging and intoxicating stuff I ever experienced. Did you ever review the black, because I cannot find it, and what happened to your channel anyway? I love your reviews!

I think Black Sukar is far less feminine than masculine. I'd even say it leans masculine. Either way, it's a wonderful combination that I enjoy having with me for several hours. I also have Warda Al Oud, King Masarat and Alexandria II in attar. Warda was a wonderful surprise. King Masarat will fill a room. And most Xerjoff fans already know AlexII in the spray, but I like the control of applying attar.

Ah man, I love this format you were working with. Derviche is amazing. As I’ve been growing my collection and exploring, I’m afraid I was neglecting this one but decided to wear it tonight while making dinner. It’s just so good! Interestingly, I do t find this to be a dark fragrance. Rather to my nose it is bright and uplifting…how interesting! We miss you here on KZbin. I hope you are finding what you need in life, bit would love to have you back!

I believe it’s Areej Le Dore too . Maybe with Bortnikoff . I love all 3. But Silver is my favorite .

This video surprises me a LOT. I am in to artisinal. Areej, Bortnikoff, Eo, Tsvga ect.ect. And at the time this video was made.. In regarding of "skill of the perfumer", blending, smoothness, transitions... Bortnikoff was the best of them all. We can talk matereals, inovation EO has the matereals, Areej had the ideas. They all had their strong and weak sides. And most of the time I agree with Brandons oppinions. But this time I feel like he missed the mark completley. Or the samples were tampered. House of Bortnikoff is not what it used to be, but at the time of this video it WAS top notch imo:)

Good review. It's the only fragrance missing from my collection. I have a tiny Mitouko extra, and some Diagalev. So I'll be patient, and maybe a partial bottle will come up some day .. I have Grandinia, Ottoman Empire and War and Peace. They have that old vintage vibe as well, which is great.

I like personal space fragrances as well... A lot of those insanely huge scent trail fragrances are filled with Aroma Chemicals... Like ISO E Super... I'm going to check these out as well!

I wish you would make more videos . Not many reviewers are like you. In fact very very few. I agree with u but I think the reason I like Bortnikoff is because it’s not very oudy. I don’t like fecal Oud. One of the things I hate most about Areej is the nasty Oud he uses. Even Grandenia which I adore, in the deep dry down I get this horrible stinky Oud. And I have to scrub it. Very few Areej I love and they’re all floral heavy. Which is why I love Triad so much. My favorite from Areej are Siberian Musk2, Malik Al Taif, Walimah, Atlantic Ambergris2, Plumeria de Orris, Antiquity, Ottoman Empire 3, Grandenia. But the one I’m chasing to buy a full bottle is Siberian Musk2. I only have 10ml left. Ppl are ridiculous with their prices . I’m not paying 5-10 times the price they paid .

I love some of Bortnikoff and others I don’t. I noticed that the first releases are much better . Then later years he reformulates them for the worst. But the few I have from Bortnikoff, I do love. I scored a first year release of Oud Monarch and Triad and Musk Khabib and I absolutely love them. I did buy Musk cologne and Moss cologne. I didn’t like Moss either . At end of day it only matters that you love them .
