When we adopted our daughter 8 yrs ago our house was so calm. Since we adopted our son 5 yrs ago our family are so stressed at times. My son gets so angry & frustrated at times when he don't get his own way. I'm always telling my husband to pick his his battles. I have cried so many times!

It's that consistency! The hardest thing to battle for me, and clearly for others too

I only learnt about therapeutic parenting after my kinship fell apart. Wish I knew about it before we would have still had our niece. I'm using this technique on my own children. Just wish she was still here

It’s a hard but rewarding style of parenting (for all parties). So sorry you’ve had this loss 💚

I've heard a lot of people mention not saying no but never anything regarding what to do in it's place! Saying no has worked really well for us. We don't use it often or for a lot, only things which are dangerous. It's definitely something I want to phase out as she is able to understand more complex sentences but I wouldn't know how to start with her now.

I think there's always a time and place for these words but it definitely makes me feel calmer and more positive if I say things like "walking please" instead of "no running" and such.

How long did it take you from the start of the process to actually getting a child? I’m looking to foster to adopt as I can’t have my own children! I love your videos because they’re answering the questions I can’t find the answers too! ❤️

Hi Paige, It took us 12 months from start to finish (although this can vary for a lot of people and for a lot of different reasons). Although that is approximately the time frame most agencies aim for.

So is emotion coaching and therapeutic parenting all part of the same process?
@Aimeevlog4 жыл бұрын
Not technically as I think they began from different people, but both are introduced and prevalent when supporting adopted children to grow & thrive

Why do these videos nearly always have deafening music alongside whispering content?
