Application of enzymes in the pharmaceutical industry :
Enzymes as biocatalysts offer numerous advantages over traditional chemical processes They are widely used in different fields for improving productivity & for economic benefits. According to Trevan (1987) the application of enzymes has been grouped into four broad categories:
(i) therapeutic uses,
(ii) analytical uses,
(iii) manipulative uses, and
(iv) industrial uses.
