This team is different. People do not want to admit it, Habs fans especially are afraid of putting the takes out there, but I feel this team is about five or less moves away from contending to win the cup. Cole Caufield and Suzuki are STILL at the very beginning of their careers, and not only have both of them had a taste of the Stanley Cup Final, but they’ve felt the lows and highs of being on a hockey team. This feeling of failure AND success as an NHLer is the difference between them and those who have not dealt with the lows and highs. Also, this is only two players: Kaiden Guhle, Josh Roy, Riley Kidney, Sean Farrell, Logan Mailloux, Justin Barron, and others are all prospects that are exceeding expectations of Habs prospects dating back to ‘95. The steps they’ve taken are displaying a fluid ceiling that it seems only God knows how high it truly is. To put it in more realistic terms: they have exceeded their potential. This isn’t me pretending these Habs are ready to win soon, unfortunately no; BUT, I believe and many experienced NHL historians/analysts can see what a beast is being created under Jim Gorton, Kent Hughes, and Marty St Louis. The sheer fact Cole netted 23 goals in the circumstances of this last season is mind boggling, let alone historical. Once the fat is trimmed (moving the higher number contracts on our wings), and our youth defenders gain some hardened NHL/AHL experience, I genuinely do not think the league knows what is coming.

Cole, Nick and Juraj seems like they are all pretty down to earth kids, with no huge ego. I hope they gel well and become the core of the habs for the next decade. Was nice to hear Cole mention how the players notice that the fans in Montreal really watch the game and appreciate the little details of it, his description of Slafkovsky was hilarious and it's nice to see his friendship with Zegras.

Being a rookie isn't easy all the time but if he keep working hard and learning the sky is the limit with this kid. He's skilled, full of potential and got one of the most insane shot I've seen over years. Every time he shoot toward these corners i just laugh thinking of the goalie. I feel bad for them i used to be one and these shots are the ones hurting the most. You see it, you know it's coming, you know where it's going and you still can't react in time, sometime at all. Great guests, keep it up. I've watched a few of them now and I must say, I prefer the podcast by a country mile. I know everyone has a podcast nowadays but I feel like Chris is more at home in the podcasting format than he was on radio, as much as I loved it when he was there. Seems like he has a good team around him too. I liked Tim when he was on Spitting Chiclets. Keep up the good work guys! I hope it really takes off. Oh and I just wanted to say, what idiots for firing him.

We really got a special player and guy in general, there's no question about it. Bergevin HAD to go, but I am so happy that his admin drafted him. Once Carey's cap space problem is solved (mad respect for him, but he has to retire; we are losing so much leeway because of his contract...), I really see this team getting a lot of attention in 2 years. And if a team has success, good reputation with players, a good core, young stars, a coach is liked and respected everywhere, etc., it will be easier for us to attract other players from free agency and beyond when needed.
@maximegiroux83532 жыл бұрын
I'll make a call right now. Caufield will be our next 50 goal scorer. Marty St-Louis will win a Jack Adams before he retires as a coach, which he'll do to go on and win a GM of the Year award. He probably wants to win it all in hockey, and getting to know the guy indirectly, he probably can.
