Really impressive with both you and the Viper you got it on the ground. I can tell you having a flap servo go bad on a 1600mm warbird, it almost rolled over on final. And that “OH MY GOD, WHAT’S HAPPENING!” freeze. You’re not thinking it’s a mechanical failure immediately. I still can’t believe you greased the landing minus the use of an aileron and the flap missing! I know how you feel about damaging a favorite plane. It’s like seeing your child in pain, or hurt. I had the Eflite P-51 Blondie for 6 years when it went down. Didn’t know at the time there were no spare parts for it anymore. I still can’t throw away the crumpled mess. I’ll probably act the same way if the twin otter, the a-10, or the Arrows Viper goes down. There’s just some planes you just bond with. It’s weird.

AMA sucks. After having it for over ten years the one claim I had they had me use my home owners. I would not still have it but the club I fly in requires it. It’s only works if u don’t have homeowners and then they have a high deductible. The only good thing is the magazine lol.

As an AMA member myself, the insurance is for liability, not because you tore off an aileron, etc. Be more concerned about the 1/2 million dollar lawsuit by someone being hit in the head. That said, that is a nice jet.
