I purchased this drone when it first came out and keep the batteries charged a bit over 25 to 30% to void deteriation or being full charged as they get ruined stores fully charged because of the materials. I charged both batteries now and took one out and flew it and was amazed after all this time even with some wind it was a nice day to fly so I ran it and used it until return home kicked in and really enjoyed it and then cme back in and watched your old full video. It is an amazing place where you live and I enjoy your video again after several years. I do have many other DJI from mini 1,2, & 3 pro, Mavic series 1 Platinum, the 2 pro with Hasselblad, and the new 3 Classic and I still enjoyed this old bird a lot. WOW! That is really impressive. I was shocked, we have been waiting for something to come along that was less than a Spark but had the features that LeAn could have to learn to really fly with. We just didn't want to spend DJI money and buy the Fly More to risk losing 500 learning to fly. I really think this could be it. Under 200 hits the price point and it has some of the features, GPS, 1080p some ability to control the camera. I can't wait to show this to her. Excellent review - this looks like a quad that has a small learning curve (compared to the more usual racing type quads) but has a lot of features at a reasonable price point - a good mix. I have to say I’ve watched a lot of video reviews. I wanted some bells and whistles, but didn’t want the price to jump out of sight. I started watching the Saylors vids because the hs120d might of had potential. Also the hs700. These reviews seemed very honest and had a homespun warm appeal. The review for this one did it for me and I pulled the trigger for this, along with 3 batteries for about $165. It will be one I can learn with, without too much worry. Great job!

Interesting feature of Follow Me following the phone. Some other drones, like Yuneec, follow the transmitter, but really how many videos do you need of you walking with a transmitter in your hand. And it means when you get out of frame the drone has no problem finding you again and continue following you. Unlike DJI drones that use camera object recognition and if you walk out of frame it gets lost and just stops and hovers. Though following an object rather than a device is much nicer for video production, this JJPro isn't a high end video production drone. This seems like a nice little drone for the price. My first two drones were non GPS and very frustrating at first, I crashed a "lot" before I finally got the hang of throttle control. I would have loved to have had GPS and a tilting camera when I started out. This seems like a nice beginner drone.

It is a great drone. I like the way it records directly to a micro SD card in the camera. I have a backpack style carry case, extra batteries, an extra charger and extra props including some 3 blade props that seem to work well. I use the included phone mount and have never had a phone fall out of it. I have used it to take family photos by letting it hover in GPS mode and press the photo button with the controller behind my back. I do balance my props for silky smooth flight vids. OK you guys! Congrats on the 150#. I've watched so many videos I'm dizzy & confused. Most reviews focus on the cameras & tech talk. So after watching this at least 5+ time's. I ordered this drone through your link, w/3 batteries and they threw in a bag. 160 bucks w/shipping. Probably have many questions. Will ask one, where is the Sim card slot? Sorry one more. what size/type Sim and where do I order or buy. Thanks for the videos you both seem like good folks, also love your dog. I'm just a very old man and proud vietnam vet trying to learn and stay busy in my old age. My wife helped me order/pay for this drone. We just celebrated 32 years of marriage this last Nov. I’m Just getting into RC stuff at the ripe old age of 68. I purchased a 3 channel park flyer and then decided to buy a drone. I saw many reviews, including this one on the JJPro x5, and thought this had some good features to start with. It came with just a basic charger and after doing some homework, I bought the Venom pro duo. Now I find out that the batteries are proprietary and the store guys said the venom would not work with them. Is that true? I bought a tester to tell me the battery state, but how do I balance and storage charge them? I like the drone so far btw and plan to buy a good beginning plane by Spring.

Just ordered one today after tons of research I chose this. Got it for $185 on Ebay. They are on there for way more, some of these models are going for over $300 now. Mabe I'll be able to find my kids toy drone I lost I a swampy farm field that's all overgrown. I cant walk all through that overgrown grass and bryers, lol. Good video.

Hi. Thanks for all your videos. I am new to drones and looking at a decent starter option for recording holiday videos such as at the beach, coastal walks, get some nice views etc. I dont need crazy distance but decent camera quality, easy gps features and okay to carry and transport about. From your reviews the 3 that look like the options are 1. JJRC JJPRO 5x 2. Potensic D80 3. Kingtoys MJX B3 They all have good reviews and on amazon UK they are almost all identical prices with some difference about accesories e.g carry case or extra batteries. What would you recommend please?... :)

I've had two EPIK drones and they both summarily (and inexplicably) fell out of the sky; both were "destroid". :-( I saw the second one fail yesterday; the port (left) rear motor pooped out while the drone was airborne. :-( Let's see if I have any better luck with the MJX Bugs 2 that I ordered a bit earlier today.

Those landing gear look more sturdy than the bugs 5w. I just got one and have only flown eachine e11c's before getting the bugs 5w. Because I'm new to it I've made some mistakes and crashed the bugs 5w twice. I used waypoints and underestimated how far it was going so I foolishly tried to land it by just pulling down on the throttle. Unfortunately I caught one of the landing gear and the screw holding it tore out and the landing gear broke. The second time I crashed I was trying headless mode and unintentionally was lowering when it was yawing around. This also ripped out a landing gear leg and stripped the threaded hole it screws into.

@DILLIGAF fpv yeah it looks like you can. I was disappointed with the durability but maybe my expectations were too high from the eachine e011(which is crazy durable). I will probably just replace the legs for now, and use bigger screws to thread into the stripped plastic.

A great review of a great looking looking drone at a really great price £143.48GBP (US$185.13) for 2 battery version. I really fancied it ... until I read the specs and found you have to have a 5g wifi smart phone to use the app and camera ... I only have a 2.4g :( I don't know alot about FPV but think it's a pity,... Maybe someday manufacturers of 5g drones like JJRC and MJX will make an optional 5g optional transmitter with built in screen.

I like those quads who can do follow me with help of its yaw. I mena Hubsan does a great job following, but it seldon yaw by it self. So this one you can have kinda close, while Hubsans you have to have a little further away so that it can follow you without yaw. But I noticed that you can yaw on Hubsan manually at the same time. lol. Wish I as a Swede were a little closer to you guys. Seems to be a blast flying with you. :-)

Have you tried test fly mjx bugs 5w? They are both really similar..have you tried flying more than 150 to 200m and still get good fpv cos some reviews get freeze screens when reaching 100 to 150m? Could you send a link of the mjx 5w test flights and the range test flights of both quads? Thanks

I can only go out about 35 meters before my camera FPV no longer woks. I can't fly out any further because I can't follow a map? I have a Samsung S8. Eveything else works and when I charge and discharge, I up to about 15 on a battery. I fly it till it brings itself home and lands. My son has a Samsung s5. It shows the map on his but the camera and wi-fi will not connect? I tried e-mailing JJPRO and the APP. Neither has gotten back to me? Thought maybe I could ask you. I bought this Drone and wanted to share my finding. When recording or taking a picture through my phone, without a mini SD card installed into the drone the video and image is 720p. But if you use a mini SD card the video and images are 1080p. Thank you for the great video.

Just a thought - wondering if the battery for this drone could be charged using the Bugs 3 charger with wall plug for faster and more convenient charging. The proprietary piece looks like it has the same connection as the Bugs 3 battery, if so, it could be plugged into the Bugs 3 charger, assuming of course you have a Bugs 3. Any thoughts from anyone that may have both drones?
