It's worth mentioning - although this video focuses on the Venture X in the duo, it can be replaced with the Venture Rewards card that also earns 2X on everything at only a $95 annual fee! While I think the Venture X is worth it, those who want to avoid high annual fees and don't find value in lounge access and other travel benefits may find this to be a better fit for them. p.s. It also has the same 75K mile sign-up bonus: rdguarantee.link/Capital-One-Venture

I think the Venture X is only worth it if you are only using the Capital One duo or don't have another luxury credit card. Once the credits start adding up from other cards, the $300 travel credit through the portal becomes a pain to use.

C1 would wreck the competition if they would gain maybe United as a domestic partner and have an elevated multiplier on gas.

Savorone is unrated top tier card. I’ve had it for 18 months with a 10,500 CL. I can’t get the venture X because I have quicksilver and venture. They allow me to upgrade yet.

I'm just not in love with VX travel partners. I can't find anything that compares to Hyatt's value. If I can't use Apple Pay on USBAR, I'll use a VX. Savor entertainment is killer for a theme park guy who lives in Orlando. However, global acceptance and no FTF make these two go-to cards when traveling internationally.

I have a short term benefit getting the savor first would wanting 6 months then getting the Venture X would that work? I have over 782 in all three credit bureaus and only three cards open at the moment
@KeithW9013 ай бұрын
Great breakdown. The big point I’ll add missing is the gas category. That being said all my gas spend is on the vx so it gets 2x. I just think c1 could improve this even on the vx/venture family. In my perfect world I’d like to see c1 improve the venture family to be the ulitimate travel cards for everything in the us. Discounts/enhanced earnings at national parks/reserves, an rv rental partner through their portal, and even a cruise partner.
@TheRDGuarantee3 ай бұрын
I really like your perspective, that’s a unique take on the benefits that cart could have that you really don’t hear a lot of other people talking about. That would add really unique value and make it the perfect card for some people

I had seen someplace recently that when u transfer points to Virgin you can use those for Virgin Cruises as well. Fact check?
@joseegarzaaАй бұрын
if C1 had better customer service, and maybe an added transfer partner or two like United and some other big hotel brand (can’t name one off the top of my head) i’d apply for their cards in a heartbeat

For the travel partners with Capital 1, do they have any airlines that fly domestically? I want to get one of the Capital 1 credit cards but only interested if the points go towards domestic flights and not international.

I have the Savor One card. I need the VX to complete my duo. I'm canceling my Amex gold
@TheRDGuarantee3 ай бұрын
That could be a major upgrade in your wallet. There's a lot of crossover between the Savor One Rewards and the AmEx Gold so it sounds like the Venture X will provide a good boost instead.

Vx is seen hyped as a good card . I think if you take away not needing priority pass beyond the normal use of other card issuers and not using the 3 airports that have a C1 lounge much of the card isn't worth being excited about.
@TheRDGuarantee3 ай бұрын
I think this is a good counter argument. It's the unlimited lounge access, the Hertz President's Circle, and other travel benefits that elevate the card. If you don't think you can/want to visit lounges 5-10x a year, the argument for other cards gets stronger! In this instance, if you don't really visit lounges you could replace the VX for the Venture Rewards for only a $95 annual fee.

They have all 3 of the big alliances don't they?
@hiro55cool3 ай бұрын
They have airlines in the 3 alliances so you can easily fly on United, Delta, American, and Alaska/Hawaiian easily using points. Hotels are a bit weak, but Wyndham points also are redeemable at Caesars properties globally so there's that.
