There is someone I watch called kaif who has a 100% winrate at alien in this game. his trick is to not even bother seeing who his allies are and just play normally, usually by not hacking himself in the beginning (using meme answers), and later on hacking only himself so he doesn't look suspicious. he will also blame other aliens making it extremely difficult to call him out.

While I love this game, it's really heavily in favor of the aliens. 3 aliens that you need to find all 3 of, 6 whole hacks and only 18 minutes? Plus the benefit of the doubt. I think it was the first crew win I've ever seen in this game, and only because Chilled landed a crit.

Its not impossible, just really difficult. Crew has and can win, just that it can only work in friend games. Quite a few youtube groups have won as crew. Kaif being one of them.

@@Golladan 2nd one the aliens played bad. Primarily they focused their hacks on cheesy, but Platy was with Cheesy multiple times and so they both got "hacked" but only 1 hack can be used at a time. This made it very easy to keep track of the hacks and they knew when they ran out. Once that happened it became easy enough to sus out the others. And for Cheesy to clear himself while Platy couldn't. There's a few other things that I can't remember that helped reveal who was who. But the main thing was the throwing hacks away too quickly and obviously making it easier for the crew in the end.

@@GBDupree And even then, there was a possibility that Cheesy is lying about the hacks to try and gaslight everyone into thinking they ran out of hacks. That would out Cheesy, but completely remove all information about other two.

@@akumuryuu Yeah but they called the bluff and the aliens fell for, because after they took every accusation at face value, and said all 6 hacks were used up, there were no more accusations thrown around. The only way they could have been wrong then is if they weren't all used up and Cheesy was lying, but the only way the hacks could have been used after that would be the Aliens hacking themselves to get the right answers, which they seemingly didn't, giving more probability that Cheesey was telling the truth. At least that's how I think they thought it through.

6:57 When Em is asking about someone getting hacked in the last one, I think she's talking about the deliberation deck, because no one explained to her that it's different from the writing one and you only have 3 choices to pick from. She probably thought two people wrote the exact same answer when "Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson" came up twice, which would be crazy if they were both writing it out and both wrote it exactly like that. When she asked about two people having the same answer, everyone else thought back to the "best place to break up with someone" prompt where two people had similar answers, and told Em that it was just a coincidence. I lowkey think the Bioscanner is a little overrated. It takes forever, requires you to trust that the captain is telling the truth, and is almost a complete waste of time if you fail. The first game for example took forever just to scan one person, when you could probably fit in 3 tests in the same amount of time. I could be wrong though, but I feel like it’d be more effective to force the aliens to use up all their hacks instead.

I don't care what anyone says, no other deception game will ever come close to the yelling matches that come from this game. The lower that timer gets the more volumes rise. Nobody is trustworthy and they will all feel each other's wrath if their team loses. I once had a partner play while stoned out of his mind, put him in the bioscanner and claimed "he's not an alien, he's just high". Everyone bought it, but at the end, he looks at me (we are playing in person) and goes, "What if you lied about who you tested? What if its you?" To say that my screams of rage could be heard down throughout the town wouldn't be much exaggeration. We did not win that round, because the sheer stupidity of what he'd done broke me and I ended up confessing while I pondered how he ended up in the honors program with ideas that smart. 10/10, I don't play this very often anymore

The flaws with this game I see is: 1. the hard time limit that is *never* paused not even for choosing the game, basically causes lots of stress and people talking over each other 2. the hacks putting everything and everyone into question especially when there is 6, and crew has no idea when it is used 3. having to agree with crew to vote out the exact number of aliens, even getting one off and you lose 4. the absurd glyphs that takes several minutes, you basically just verbally describe every single one, and only one person gets to reveal Seems mostly impossible for crew to win, and when they do it's mostly a toss up. I'll always watch a Chilled/social deception game but this is arguably just a throwaway game in the JBPP

Most of those “flaws” is what makes Push The Button unique. It’s different from other social deception games in that it creates a constant pressure, which leads to better social play as you don’t have as much time to really analyze what other people are saying.

1. Isn't a flaw whatsoever. Its an important mechanic to the game. Crew needs to be quick. Aliens need to try and drain the clock, but they also need to act fast here too, which can make it hard for them to play smartly, and risk getting exposed by either taking too long or getting caught trying to protect aliens by making weird decisions that a clear-thinking crew wouldn't make. One thing that might be flawed is the amount of time it takes to stop the clock with a potential vote. But more on that in point #3 as to why I think I might be ok with the delay in being able to hit the button. 2. 6 does seem like a lot. Would be surprising if that's not configurable. If it's not configurable, I'd say THAT is a flaw. 3. I think there's a very interesting meta game here from the current situation though. It worked to Chilled's advantage. The crew was forced to go with his vote. Had he led off with that, it likely gets rejected. For me, I think it's really interesting 'game theory' as you kind of want to be the last one to be casting the vote, but how long do you wait in this game of chicken to buzz in? 4. I think this makes sense though. It's a very powerful game. It should be expensive to play it, and time is the ultimate currency here. I think what might be the hard part for us as viewers is that we have even LESS information than the players in the game. We're trying to figure out which 3 of the 8 are bad. Chilled was trying to figure out which 3 of the 7 were bad; that's easier. (Or if he's bad, he's playing an entirely different game all together.) So even while we watch "Chilled's perspective" we really have ZERO baseline for what is and isn't accurate from ANYONE. On the other hand, Chilled is able to at least count how many times HE has been hacked in order to better assess the current hack count. Or even in the scenario where Junk cleared Cheesy who cleared Chilled, it's harder to figure out the likelihood of anything. If we knew Chilled was good, we could at least have SOME reason to believe Cheesy might be good. Or at the very least he didn't lie. But even if you're an outsider like Shubble there, where you're good, and now you suddenly see Junk trying to act good clearing Cheesy who is trying to act good by clearing Chilled. The simple fact that Shubble is good, it would be crazy odds from her perspective that all three of those players in that chain are good. So at what point does the chain break down with someone bad in there? Not that this is a clear giveaway, but she has an edge that we just don't.

Button. namely the fact you only get one chance to eject people and if so much as 1 alien survives they win it is so easy to just have the aliens either gang up on one human or to turn on each other to make it look like they aren't on the same team and just auto win. it just feels very unbalanced towards the aliens

This game is really not good for youtube vids tbh. We can’t even see any of the gameplay. We see nothing that Chilled does. We’re just blind. Can’t even play along. Not entertaining at all. It would be 10000% better if we could see what Chilled is doing or at the very least the screen that they see, e.g the screen with all the glyphs.
