Many years ago I made a horrible mistake repotting a 35-year-old ficus bonsai I paid quite a bit of money for. It died. And I was devastated. The poor tree was tossed out into the back yard with a sigh and some disgust. Three days later I got up the courage to pick it up and put into the trash bin. But, I noticed something that shocked me. At the base of the tree, the tiniest of green leaves was poking out as if to say "Hey, I am NOT dead!" I've nurtured that tree with the most care I've ever given anything and, happily, that tree, now 65 years old, is now covered with many little and happy leaves. It is a different style now, but it is alive and happy. And that makes me happy too. Listen to your trees. They transcend our limited understanding.

The quality of this short film is superb, there is no separation in the care between the bonsai and the film itself...

Wow. Really high quality production, your video makes me look and feel like the amateur I am-both in bonsai and KZbin. The time it must have taken you to make this 9 minute video....and some very compelling views on the beauty of fractal patterns/chaos in nature and how they influence our ideas of attractiveness. Well done.

Exceptional video. Humor is my cup, I'm not good at bonsai either. "There are no mistakes in bonsai except 1"

I have now watched a couple of your videos. I first thought you're just another artistic soul, rambling about the beauty of bonsai. And you might be, but I actually found substance in your rambling, and found it interesting. You're making some excellent points plus creating a soothing and calming videos. I'll definitely subscribe! PS. Your trees are pretty good too!

Another beautifully made video! You are absolutely right! I find the part where I learn the most in Bonsai is when I kill a tree

Great video superb editing. There is only one mistake with our trees and that is to kill it that is the best way to put our bonsai journey. My first tree was a crape myrtle, I kill it but I learn so much from that mistake. Keep up the great work.😄

Another great video. I love your intro. reminds me of the 80s tv shows we used to watch growing up. My favourite was "the littlest hobo" do you remember that one?

They had a bittersweet quality. That era of film/television is lodged in my mind, it's always how I want my videos to look and feel. The specific inspiration here was the credits for Grizzly Adams: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4bIaX59rq5_mpY

Great video, I just stumbled across your channel a few days ago,(and subbed) I love the way you think and all the other info you give (not just about bonsai). I got into bonsai about 2 years ago and a lot of my starts have come for the discount section at Bunnings,( I live in Melbourne) I’ve found some really sad looking plants there but love the challenge of seeing what I can create with them. And I definitely grab a snag on the way in. 😆 thanks, keep them coming. 🪴🌲🌱
