MDT’s LSS Chassis system is the same. It’s $429 for the central section with handguard ONLY before you add stock, etc. I didn’t expect a full chassis from Outlier for $99. Since I didn’t want a Bravo, Oryx (backordered anyway), or hunter style chassis, I decided to take a chance with Outlier. My OTD price including tax and shipping was $402 for a complete chassis with a bag rider. Just ordered it, so we’ll see. Thanks for the video!

From what I saw, this is still a pretty good deal. Most of the chasis sytems from MDT will run you way more than this one.

I bought an Outlier chassis when they started. Took 1 1/2 YEARS to deliver!!!!! Yes. “YEARS”! Excuses in emails and at times they simply ignored me. Finally got it. And have since bought another to give them fair chance. 2 things. They’re BIG. and they’re HEAVY. Cheaper than most chassis systems and very strong. Not a fan though. Bad taste in my mouth after the first experience. Can’t denounce or recommend… they’re just a chassis. I’ll be looking on ebay for a used MSS for my next one.

Outlier barrels (I have 4) seem to all be right in the BARELY sub MOA with factory ammo range. These are 10 shot groups. 6.5 creed is printing .8 10 shot. Handloads and tune have gotten that down to a frustrating 10 shot group of .4 with a .65 flier (in 7PRC). They're totally good imco. my top tier match barrels struggle to do that with factory box ammo BUT... Those get down to a consistent quarter minute with handloads/ tuning.

I guess I tainted myself when I saw the howa barreled actions for under 300 and the 300 winmag was 330. Magpul chassis were 175ish. Hope we get another trumpslump

I paid $200 for my Magpul Hunter stock and I'm totally happy with it. Arken can keep their $69+++ chassis.

I agree, when buy scopes I've been very happy with quality & features of Primary Arms, Athalon & Arken. I just got a Athalon for my ar10 in 308 late last year. It is awesome quality. I will buy any of those before vortex now!

When I was shopping for chassis they all build out from the main frame. If you pay attention to the outlier options they list all the weights so you can Taylor your weight to what you want to build for instance their stock comes in 3 weights so if you want lightweight hunter or heavy bench rest target that doesn’t jump around plus you can weigh the chassis down also for a high recoiling caliber for weights if you use mdt weights with centered mounting holes it will interfere with your accessory from sliding up and down your arca rail if you use the salmon river solutions weights with offset mounting holes it will fix that issue and there are other chassis with that issue as well but but that’s what influenced my decision on the outlier system… for cost try a savage axis action outlier barrel and brake a Arken sh4j and a outlier chassis then use a influencer code and you have a capable rifle until you want to spend bigger money … the customizable weight of the stock and the longer m lock rail and I like the built in arca were the selling points for me

Looking at an Outlier, and I do agree I wasn’t ready to see that price jump, but I have seen them offering 25% off for forever. Built one by them and after the discount was like 352. Not too shabby. Planning on saving money as I have AR stocks and grips laying around so I really just need the body and handguard. Thanks for making the video for those that don’t know about their advertising!

Im using a Black Collar arms chassis for my 8.6 BLK. Great customer service and they give great Veterans Discounts. Only do Short Action 700 ft prints, but hopefully they will offer the long actions @ some point.

I ordered a 7prc barrel from outlier and a chassis with the 10.5” rail. I didn’t want any of the stocks they offered so I just got the chassis and rail. All together I’m in $456.47 for both, not many chassis come with the buffer tube and stock so you have to add that in to whatever you’re looking at. The last chassis I bought was a mdt LSS and it was close to $500 by itself for just a plain chassis.

Thanks for pointing this out, and options out there. I think most people will figure out quickly this is starter price to get you in the door. What counts in the end is value for money. BTW did anyone notice their 7.62/308 barrels are 1:8 twist rate? unless it is a typo.

@@EagleRun23 I did get a response from Outlier, so its not a typo, he spoke positively about the faster twist rate. I'm willing to try it, maybe a 20" because I'm planning to buy a new rifle with a 20" 1:8, so I could simply switch the barrel and see any difference using the same ammo.

same thing i saw 2 or 3 guntubers were posting black friday pre-fit barrel deals STARTING OFF AT 69 dollars after you get a threaded barrel for you caliber that you can actually screw / bolt in and use its 170+ shipping if it a priced dropbox item that is mandatory to select that has be used to finish the order it cant be $69. even at 170 they were still about half the price of aero or faxon or shaw

The chassis are definitely deceptive. The barrels though are pretty legit. I paid 160 for a 6.5 Creed 1.2 bull. It shoots amazing. I have a .291in five shot group at 100. And that was with Midways 130g factory second eldm bullets lol. I was impressed

@ If you get a barrel like mine you’ll be extremely happy. This is my first experience with installing a match barrel myself. It’s very interesting. Clean cold bore it shoots moa. Few foulers and some heat in it the groups tighten significantly after

Excellent video. For the price I will not take the chance with that chassis. Not worth it. You can go with a KRG bravo of MDT field stock for around $350.00. MDT and KRG are the heavy hitters in PRS.
