Highly recommend Earthshade wash from Games Workshop or Med Wash from Armypainter if you don't want to use acrylics slather and wipe method.

You need to study how the Spartans fought with spears because they never put spears through the shield but would carry the spear over the shield while fighting. The hole through the shield was just for looks to make it dramatic.

Excellent review, painting helped greatly! I only have the Epic Hacks Grim Spector Skeleton in addition to a few of the 4 Inch Hacks skeletons from their kickstarter campaign. The Epic Hacks do suffer from slightly loose hips and warped lower legs, the hips are easy to fix, the warped lower legs not so much. I'd still buy more but they're a bit pricy.

You should take the two with shields and do a Jason and the Argonauts soot in monochrome. Then for a twist use a Jason Voohees figure for Jason.

I snagged the green pirate and orange cowboy. I like the bright colors so I’ll probably leave as is. Their hip joints are quite frustrating. Using the stand helps in the enjoyment. I think the Fwoosh Bone Brawlers are still the best articulated and creepy skeletons out there. I have three including the Power Con green. I don’t get the new skeletons from Four Horsemen as I missed the dang sale. Honestly they are beefy so my preordered ones from Necronomicus wave will be fine. I wish I had bought a few more Fwoosh ones. They seem to be the best for the look I want. This orange cowboy is cool from Epic Hacks.

I got new Skeleton Figure in line with dummy13, i bought only $1.30😅 it's fully articulated with weapons and weapon holding hands and relax hands. You can also paint them if u're a fan of customizing.😊

I have the Grim Spectre Skeleton one and it is super cool. Sadly, I broke mine trying to take off his cloak. (by separating it from the torso) I was super pissed, so be really careful trying to take off the accessories. Probably heat them up, too.
