Shadow Assistant Minister for the NDIS Senator Hollie Hughes says there are “too many people" on the NDIS.
Ms Hughes told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio that the NDIS was intended for “permanent and lifelong disability”.
“We’ve got nine per cent of kids between five and nine … that are now on the NDIS.
“If we’re saying that nine per cent of kids have a permanent and lifelong disability, we’ve got bigger problems than what’s facing the NDIS now.
“The most expensive part of the NDIS is supported independent living.”

Many on NDIS are actually accumulated low percentile vax victims, or victims of Big Pharma medications, or victims of secondary disease during hospitalization, or victims of drug and alcohol abuse.

NDIS saves lives! Don't speak to stuff you don't understand. I believe the birth certificate trust is what they draw from, not taxes.

@@CollectiveConsciousness1111 - Not all NDIS recipients are deserving of their status or allocation. bIt is an undeniable fact that NDIS enables certain individuals to become opportunistic and parasitic beyond their physical needs, and thus unnecessarily burden the Tax Payers with an unjustifiable burden that borders upon slavery. In order to maintain order, the letter of the law must be read to be understood in the spirit of the law by which it was intended to be beneficial to the most needy and neglected in society, otherwise injustice prevails and the Tax Payers become the oppressed victims.

Too many people on NDIS because the officers dealing with these clients DO NOT ASK the pertinent questions. Ticking boxes is all they do. Have a back ache and can't work? Okay onto NDIS, never a question of where is your specialist doctor's certificate that has made the assessment you can't work, etc. How come you are on NDIS but have no problem and money to travel overseas to China or Hong Kong for three months. These guys are either not trained to ask the right questions or they have a vested interest in keeping the rort system going to ensure they have a job. Shame on them

They’re are real people who need it. But there is a whole of people who don’t. I do work for ndis . I’m sick of doing work for people with arthritis in their wrist and they live in wealthy suburbs with homes that are worth $2 million +

I have relatives that are on NDIS they are 2 people that are very capable of living independently with maybe some home care is all they need but they get trips and holidays all sorts of things they request technology like phones you name it they get it.....there now trapped in a system that has enabled this behaviour good luck if you will ever have them see it that way there lost and gone....no coming back will take months even years to train them back into being responsible adults.....

My OT charges $200 an hour, and I am sure if I look in her direction, I get a bill. Before the NDIS she was paid around $50 an hour. I used to be able to get assistance for around $25 - 30 an hour. Now it is around $60+ an hour. All because of the price guide. One carer sent me a contract with it copied in. I am sure my previous OT and Physio have an arrangement with an equipment provider. It is a good idea, completely mis-understood by those who control and those who implement it. oh .... the last person who understood government spending was Gough Whitlam .... I now wait for the derisory laughter.

The Government decided back on 2012 that they would put all disability services under the same umbrella …..you can’t do that there are some people who’s needs are high and there are other people who’s needs are not to bad my sister was born deaf she is 67 now she has done well before the NDIS she held down a job has great assistance with technology , she was given NDIS she Goes on cruises and takes am interpreter has a good life ..then there is my son who suffers from Schzophrenia he has treatment resistance and suffers I have had to fight for help he tried to take his life do you know what that is like his needs are high but they don’t look at it like that it’s breaks my heart

I’m concerned why we have such a large number of Autistic children in this country, should we be looking at genetic testing, breeding, and the causes to prevent this disorder from happening to start with. Are our genes damaged in some way that autism will become an epidemic in our future generations. This is not a great outlook to our future.

100%, she said it herself...if 9% of kids have a disability then they've got bigger problems, well guess what lady you do...but it's just being ignored. Autism is genetic, so it's passed down through families, as time goes on it will get worse to the point scientists believe it will be the majority of people....then your going to have real problems. Media just seems to want to talk about the money, getting ppl riled up thinking it's just being wasted and not the actual issue that's become an epidemic.

The amount of kids in the system that Hollie talks about is crazy. I work in this space chasing Service Agreements and most of them are for young Childtren. My niece who was diagnosed with young onset Parkinsons 5 years ago had to jump through hoops to get the NDIS. The system is all wrong.

I mean, the mask is ridiculous, but just look at the total package. The earrings, the hair, the outfit, the "problematic" glasses. What did we expect from this 'scheme'?
